Was in a hard place so I had to sell my blackout :(. 1 of 50 #40. But would I do it again? Yes as it was to benefit my family. And family before tools.

I'm sure you'd regret it a whole lot more had you kept the tool at the time.  Hobbies are great, but they are selfish by nature being they are (in most cases) personal.  Doing a selfless act is worth far more than any silly tool that brings you nothing other than pride of ownership.  Well done.

True :). I've sold many and still have a couple, but I'd sell them ALL if my family needed it.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

<--- No seller or buyers remorse. I tend to never sell anyways...and when I buy something, I always think about it for a while before jumping on it...so surprisingly enough, I never compulsively buy.
Do you mean that there is anything on earth you decided NOT to buy! Unbelievable.

I usually don't sell. I only sold some optics while upgrading and gave away a few. I never sold a knife or multitool. I have a selfish dream that some decades from now, my kids or grandchildren might use a SAK or a telescope of mine (can't dream that for electronics) and remember the shadow of me.

In my life, I've done much more buying than selling.  As a result, there are more things I have regretted buying than selling.  The biggest on either side might be my 1995 Mazda Miata.  In a previous life (before kids), I used to do autocross and track days.  I managed to get a pretty good return from the car and it really helped us out, but I spent hundreds of hours and gallons of blood, sweat, and tears upgrading it.  At least I know it went to a good home because it was bought by a racing instructor.  I can only hope it helped others learn the love of racing.

But, I'm still relatively young so there is plenty of time to have bigger regrets.

Miatas are awesome cars. Someday, i'd like to own one w/ hardtop with a 6 speed.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I rarely if ever sell things - unless they are completely meaningless to me....in which case id probably give it away!!

In my early teens I asked everyone for money one Christmas, then in the  new year  sales I went and bought a Tamiya RC Ford Ranger. It was shop display model so was heavily reduced. All my friends had RC Tamiyas back then. A favourite trick we used to play was hiding in the woods with our RC models hiding in the sand bunkers.... We'd then roar out and nudge the golf balls to one another before whizzing off... It used to send the players crackers...lol.

After a few years, we all quit RC's and most of my friends sold theirs. I kept mine and completely overhauled it. New shell, bumpers, wheels, tyres, stickers it was mint by the time I'd finished and sat proudly as a shelf queen in my bedroom. For some stupid reason I sold it to a pal for £30 to buy some Levi's 501's. I've regretted that sale for the past 25+ years. Hence, I now keep everything. I've learnt regret is a painful experience that I don't wish to endure again.

Typically the Tamiya Ford Ranger has now almost reached iconic status with mint examples fetching big money....mine was pristine!!!   :twak:  :twak:
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.
