I'm sure you will enjoy having the Spirit tool.  I've had mine for about a year and it has become my favorite MT.  I just wish it had a lanyard loop.

A lanyard loop did come to mind. I'm also thinking about adding a Niteize pocket clip; or just rocking the accompanied pouch, not sure. Going to see what feels right in the coming weeks. To be honest after I bought it before I even reached my car it was on my belt and it felt SOOO right.

I promised pics and here they are.
These are not even the same breed of animal. The Wingman has to go...

The Spirit will replace everything in this pouch short of the flashlight. Maybe if I polish it real nice it'll replace the flashlight as well.

Plus the pic I posted in the other topic...just cause.

Good choice, it's hands down the best of breed in midsize IMO.  Don't let the pretty finish fool you, it can take take more beating than you can dish out.  I've literally beat the snot out of mine and it still looks nice. 
One of the guys I work with has carried a Swisstool for the 20+ years we've worked together.  It looks beat to snot.  I've seen him hammer that thing beyond belief.   The tools all look like like they have been through the apocalypse yet they snap like a new one.  The quality is amazing.

I'll echo what practically everyone else has said; It's a great tool. Top of the class for utility, fit and finish. I came by mine in a GAW here and still can't beleive I own one. The generous donor said it would ruin me for other MT's and he was right!

You can fit an ersatz lanyard quite easily - it doesn't compromise any of the tools;

I don't know what stores carry it; heck it's hard to find stores which carry SAKs short of Classics these days, but if you've handled a Leatherman Wave I'll say it's fit and finish far exceed that tool. If you're looking for a true beater and rough work tool go with a Wave. If you want a highly refined and polished tool for EDC I say the Spirit.

Put it to you like this if anything were to happen to my tool and I have the funds it's getting replaced almost immediately even if I have to pay near retail.

Looking like it'll be retiring a few of my 91mm's and I'm think less and less about a Swisschamp...well I think I can get a few for cheap so I just might jump on a pair of them for parts or trade.

I haven't used mine much, I'm keeping them pristine for when I really need them, however, in my experience the plain edge one shows no fear and the serrated edge one shows no mercy  :D  :o

Yup, I got a spare one just in case. GigaHz stumbled upon a batch of really cheap Spirits about a year back, I think it was $20 without sheath and $25 with sheath. :ahhh They sold out quickly. ;)

I was planning on selling my Spirit X, and just using my RT, but have decided it would be far more sensible to keep both if I can. I really don't want to be without one of these tools

More like a steal! I got mine for 100€ with a 20% off three years ago. Spirits retail around 150€ lately. On local Internet they can be had for 90€ new but that's a pre-order. Also, take a look at the second worst price I found with a quick search :D  :ahhh




The Plus models used to cost 150-180€  :cry:

Too bad I wasn't around at the time.
