Need help identifying this SAK
on: November 10, 2015, 10:23:40 PM
It was somewhat of a blind purchase, I believe it is an Elinox Crossbow tang stamp, 5 twist forged cork screw, serrated spartan but with a small pruning blade instead of a small clip point? Not sure of the scale material seems glossy and it is the old shield nickle inlay emblem.

I will certainly post better pictures when it comes in

Most likely it's a Picnicker where the saw hasn't been opened.

Looked at the auction pictures. Definitely a Picnicker. It's probably from around 1972 - I don't see a "+PAT" on the can opener. This model was made into the mid 1980s, but by then it was in the regular Officier Suisse line. Since this is still stamped "Elinox", has a 5 turn corkscrew and a cap lifter with wire scraper, its probably a c. 1972 model. If there IS a +PAT on the can opener, then we need to look at the other tools to try and narrow down a date range. Specifically, are the can opener and cap lifter machined or polished. This knife was made right around the time they started polishing all tools on all knives, including Elinox.
