Netflix

So about a month ago Netflix finally launched in Spain, IMHO very late as other streaming services have jumped in to fill the gap. It was supposed to happen about the same time as the UK launch, but they suddenly changed their mind. Any ways I started my free month trial on launch day, today is my last free day before the billing period.
The .ES catalog is ok, but I believe there's a lot missing vs .UK .CA or .US (someone will say use a proxy but I don't think that's possible on Android/Chromecast or via my current router, and if I can't watch it on my TV it's not really all that useful to me).
Watching material in original version is easy and there is Spanish content as well as American series
I wish there was an easy way to mark a single season of a show as watched without rewatching or rating a show... I understand this is because they want you to add ratings to be able to better find content for you.
There's no way to remove items from "Continue Watching..." I have several items there that I did indeed finish, but they continue to appear there...
Android app works great and no hassles pushing to my Chromecast.
I noticed the media controls on my TV remote actually work (pause/play at least) when watching through Chromecast, this is a nice feature, but nothing I wasn't already getting with my Kodi (XBMC) box and my Pulse Eight USB - CEC adapter
Trying to figure out if it's worth carrying on my sub or axing it. I am keen on Jessica Jones which becomes available tomorrow...

At the Powernoodle Compound, we cancelled our cable television and now watch Netflix almost exclusively. There is so little worthwhile to watch on network television, and I got sick of paying for it. We prefer BBC series. Very smart and well-done. Better than virtually everything on American television.

From what I saw the .es platform only has a limited amount of BBC stuff... mostly Top Gear and some nature documentaries... poor selection IMHO.

Also, we currently do not have any other paid cable service, the free to air Digital TV service in Spain already has a large variety of channels making paid cable pretty redundant... you only gain a few specific channels, most of whose programming is repeated on the FTA networks later. Unless of course you are after sporting events... (except Hockey... it barely exists at all here...)
That being said commercial breaks in Spain are ridiculous. It used to be 15min breaks... they now toned it down a bit and you end up with a 5min break, it comes back for 1min, then another 4min break.

Not sure how it would work with chromecast, but I do access US Netflix via Hideninja VPN and it works just fine on my Android tablet

from what I read in the past the chromecast has it's own network setup and uses only Google's DNS servers... so it's difficult to spoof or switch them.
