Cool mod! Looks like a little file work fix that in no time.
I use a Diesel blade in my EDC MP 600 (along with a mix of MP 600 and Strata tools and I guess one is from an EVO.I have no problems, the blade deploys easily and none of teh toosl has much play. I should change teh positions of the Awl and big flathead one of these days to get better acces to the nail nicks, though.
I take it the Excalibur is a variation on the Paul Chen Multitasker then?If so, I have a similar mod, and those shears have been very useful
The Multi Tasker is not produced by Paul Chen Hanwei Knives, it is simply marketed by them. The same tool was originally imported and marketed by Fiskars as the Excalibur Multi-Snip. It was produced under the Gerber patent for sliding plier jaws. Quality of construction is excellent for a Chinese built tool.
Due to how the lock works they shouldn't be any different to open or close. Is there any contact on the handle? You used some lube right?

Must be only just touching though right? Might work in a different handle set.

How good are the shears?
If anyone should have similar plans: I do have an Excalibur kicking about where the spring for a handle tool is broken - would be perfect for a parts donor...
The watch should be halfway there, however I have enough catfood boxes to spare so that i could initiate another shipment... PM me, I´sure we´ll find a deal/trade!
Oh my!!! That's superb. Now I'm gonna have to hunt down a Excalibur

So, it should not be too expensive.I have to say I love that tool and it really chews up stuff well. Used it to shorten roses yesterday Today it will have x-mas-tree-trimming-duty
