There is a train station within walking distance of the venue (if my googlefu hasn't failed me) so that is an option, £30odd for a return it looks like for me.

That's not too bad then.  :)
I'm back!!

47.4 miles :tu:

I demand you cycle all the way so you'll be as knackered as the rest of us >:( :D

Nah. Think I'll just get up late, have some coffee, read the paper, load the car, have another coffee, take a relaxed drive there and still be there before you. :D

Ryan, if you want picking up from a station en route - let me know. Stations between my house and the venue are Tamworth, Burton, Lichfield, Cannock, Telford. If needs be it's a small detour to Stafford or Wolverhampton.

I used to come here a lot.

Don't forget my idea of having a kitty so we all bear some of the cost of our mates that have to travel further then the rest of us

What do you all reckon

Here is how it would work?

Following numbers are an example:

We each put it £10

5 of us attend thats £50

We tot up collective miles travelled (eg 500 miles)  Salty thats land miles not nautical  :twak:

Each mile equals 10p

Now if I only travel 10 miles I get back £1

Dave K travels 40 miles, he gets back 40 X 10p equals £4.00.

It just seems to share the cost somewhat and we are getting the accommodation for free.

I know on the above example that I am £9.00 down but c'mon its worth it to see all attend.

Yep, plus your train distance etc.  I reckon we are looking at close to 2000 miles.

Lol - then it doesn't matter if you count the return or not? As long as we're all consistent then the ratio's the same innit?

I know that, I was just pointing out that if £10 each covered 500 miles (say), then we'd be looking at closer to £40+ to cover all of our travelling.  That's obviously fine by me, but for guys like you and Dave etc that seems a bit pricey.

I think the idea is that we pay £10 whatever. Your "share" of the pot will depend on how many miles you have done compared to everyone else.

Capiche?
