Sorry, no models in production that are thinner than explorer AND have inline philips as far as I know....

You could try a Yeoman or scientist.  :P
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

What are thoughts concerning turning an inline Phillips into an awl

Got a second hand really cheap... It didn't have batteries in the LED, small blade tip is bent and the back scales has some burnt marks...

Haven't done anything to it yet besides putting on a couple of fresh button cells... Still figuring out what to do with it besides replacing the small blade... Was originally thinking if turning it into a Yeoman Lite, but with the scissors placed on the outer side, nail nick will be difficult to access... So now I'm toying with the idea of adding scissors, metal file and woodsaw... Or probably just the scissors (Explorer Lite)... Or a Mountaineer Lite... Or... Or... ah might as well  save it for later until I can think of something

Making the Phillips pointy sounds like a lot of work. Plus, if you did that, wouldnt the pointy part be exposed when folded inward (unless im mistaken, and the inline Phillips does fold fully into the frame)

Yeah the pokey bit wouldn't be very pocket friendly :pok: :o :D Was just throwing that out to see what peeps thought about it and it would be a last resort because I am still on the look out for an in line awl

Except for not having said awl I decided to see how my mod would go together and you can see my progress in my perfect SAK thread :D If I would have had enough pin stock most likely I would have just forgone the in line awl idea and peened it all back together but I lacked just a tiny bit of pin stock to be able to peen it over the bushing :-[ This may hvae been for the best as now I need to source some pin stock and it gives me more time to get the awl :tu:

Ponch, rather than putting the feelers out for an in-line awl on it's own, why not see if anyone has a spare pioneer or soldier or something - for my Pikachu mod I bought a cheap and already partly modded SI just to harvest the awl.
It was worth awl the effort (sorry, wrong thread).

This is my plan as well, I have a Rancher on the way just for the awl and pruner blade. Chances are that the inline awl is what people use from the knife and that you'd have a much easier time finding any other part.

I have been watching a lot of auctions on ebay for many different alox models :salute: Almost won a few but of course in the last few seconds  Well you know :D
