Brought out this old beauty for SCS- used the file to smooth out a rough cut in some wooden trim. Pretty sure it’s from 1987 or so it has the slim first generation pliers and a hole in the reamer. Picked this up for $20 because I was going to take it apart for the pliers but it’s just such a beauty I couldn’t do it.

There's something about the older SAKs....I'm glad you didn't part it out Explorer!

I’ve had that problem before…maybe more than once.

Looks more on the ‘86 side, though. Taper of the awl and in guessing the brass collar under the Phillips. Double ‘full’ liners, etc.,

Enjoying your bargain find is the right thing to do.  :tu:

Happy SC Sunday everyone!

For SC Sunday, a Champ family picture.

The yellow one is my newest. Bought it online two SC Sundays ago and it arrived early last week. It needed a deep cleaning and I replaced the original red scales with new yellow Plus ones.

I thought about that earlier this evening as I was using the pliers.   :(

Well, I can always fall back on the Seber Tool I keep in my pocket.

It wouldn’t be a challenge otherwise!

I’m planning on keeping some knipex handy just in case. Like another pocket when I’m outside.

Still gonna miss the Champs and Troubleshooters though.

I feel like we need to develop a better nickname for the SwissChamp. “Champ” can either mean Champion or SwissChamp. Granted, there’s less potential for confusion in a thread dedicated to the SwissChamp, but still…

A good carry that'll prepare you for almost anything. How do you manage to cram all of that into a suit?

Today I wore jeans and an Untuckit brand shirt.  Just like John the Baptist in the wilderness.

Firearm OWB at 4:00
Samsung S9+ phone OWB at 8:00
Motorola radio attached to LF pocket with earpiece under the shirt (security team)
Swisschamp, Sharpie and ring with 3 toys in RF pocket
Knife clipped to RF pocket
Keys, light and spare mag in LF pocket (usually no spare mag)

With the Untuckit shirt over everything, all one sees is the radio.  Except for the radio, this is pretty much my normal EDC.  Its pretty easy.  :salute:

Finally got to use the corkscrew on a cork with my SwissChamp. Usually it's either used for another purpose, or I pull the cork with a different model... just a shame I'm not the one drinking it!

I used it many times for that. Most bottles have cork here and, when I was young, I insisted on using my SC even when other corkscrews were available. Now I mostly use the big thing with arms, that's much bigger than the Swisschamp XLT.

35 years ago my Huntsman saw a lot of work removal use.  This reminds me that it's been WAY too long

Hey, Jazz...

How did you make the 3D photos?

I used an app that I can place 2 photos side by side in. Any app that does this will do. I took 2 pics an eye width apart and put them in the app's spaces. You might have to cross your eyes to test (might have them in the wrong positions). Real easy, and looks cool to me.
