Just way too large for my needs. Once the blade exceeds 4 inches, it is excessive for what I use it for regularly. My sweet spot is a 3.5 inch blade.Yeah that is more in my blade range size as well Do I have the need for a blade this big, normally no, thank heaven. But I do take pride and joy carrying it.If I do find myself in a dire situation, it would be there for me.I totally get it and if I thought I could carry it myself without getting those looks I'd be right there with ya in carrying it Kamp but unfortunately even in the area I am in people aren't as tolerant to blade as they should be

Now that is crazy, there is nice pair of scissors on spirit for cutting ropes.
Great "new" EDC, Kampfer. Can't beat the Spirit + Cold Steel folder for every day carry, huh?
Thanks for the Wave mode you taught me!
I love using a MT to open another MT

Over a year of carrying the Spirit now.
The Spirit is precise and well made but I dislike the design. Nothing is very convenient to get. I actually find Leatherman "toolbox" designs easier to get the tools because I can loosely use any of my fingers. With the Spirit you have to use the thumbnail to efficiently get at most of tools. The fact that all the tools are on the outside of the Spirit is not a feature to me because they're not as easily deployable as other designs. I think the Wave/Charge/Surge format is a much better design than the Spirit. But I also think that if Victorinox ever made a tool with the Wave format it would likely be the best multitool you could own. I also dislike the Spirit scissors, too small a cutting area for taking up a large space. The chisel/scraper multi-function tool is brilliant, more MT companies should embrace that design. If you carry a folder I can see how the Spirit would be a perfect compliment. Also if you live in a country where OHO is illegal or restricted I can also see how the Spirit design isn't a negative.
