I know I'm in a minority here - but - what is funny about Little Britain?

My kids (aged 12 and 13) say it's because I'm old - but I just don't "get it"  ???

I mean - I think I get the pint of it, but it just doesn't seem very funny.

Please post your age when ripping my post to bits - let's see if I am genuinely too old to understand it

Dave (age 40)

I used to come here a lot.

There's the occasional good line but really not my cup of tea either.  Still head and shoulders better than "The Office" which was just an exercise in tedium.

I have weird tastes in comedy though  :ahhh

I liked the first few episodes I saw of Little Britain a lot, but became a little tired of it after that.

I still absolutely loved the premiere of Little Britain USA. I may very well again become less enthusiastic as the series progresses though.

I am 44 but I don't know that I trust everyone to give the right age anymore. For all I know you guys are also all 16 year old kids!  ;) :D :D

extensive litigation could attend such accusation?

if shortened words and poor grammar make someone young, surely big words and fancy phrasing make me old, yeah?

(So far the youngest person to Post, you old smurfs  :D)

I was joking about a specific person who pretended to be much older than he was, not about young people in general. Wish I was one again at times... ;)

I think it is quite funny , but I think good comedy is about pushing boundaries & sometimes the line does get crossed .Just remember Monty Python was probably quite controversial when it came out.
Some Aussie guys called The Chasers fall into this model of being either very funny or in poor taste , hit or miss comedy. Here is some of their work .BTW I am almost a old fart 37.

Example:

Pretending to be Canadian dignitaries and passing all the security check points to get into a top security meeting of the heads of a great many country: Hilarious (No points to Australian Security Guards though, What's that, you have little flags on your car? Sweet, come on in!)

Dressing as Osama Bin Laden: Ruins the joke.

I like the office too. The British version that is - I just didn't find the US version anywhere near as funny. I read that they rewrote it hugely because the humour was "uniquely British". Which I guess was another expression for weird.

I used to come here a lot.

Exactly. If I know what the joke is going to be before the program even starts - why watch it  ???
