Olé, Inlay!

Obviously, one can find numerous SAKs with ads, art, names and alls kinds of stuff on them.  They're awlmost inescapable.  I'm sure many collectors cherish them while many collectors despise them.  Generally, I enjoy almost any authentic SAK.    However, I do especially enjoy the older Victorinox with the metal inlays.  I'm not sure when they started doing this but I imagine it was in the 60's.  I have aquired a few of these in my time collecting and enjoy them very much.   I'd like to invite others to share their inlays, knowledge, and thoughts here...

Below I have some examples.   I am curious about a couple of them so if you have any information, please share.  Namely, the "24K" Huntsman which I have NO IDEA about and the 1910-1985 Spartan VASV, the VASV could stand for a few different things but I'm thinking it's the Verband Aargauischer Schützenveteranen ( http://www.vasv.ch/index.htm ) from Aargau, Switzerland.   The rest are easily googleable names and are all Swiss except for the 24K and Brookstone.    The other thing I found neat about the VASV was that it had a toothpick scale w/ no tweezers.  I guess the tweezers would have gotten in the way with the inlay and they didn't want to sacrifice the tooth pick.

Gee whiz, SG, you have some great ones!  Really dig that anniversary one and the camping logo (Master Gardener)?    "Mad props and respekt" as the young ones say.

Thanks for sharing.

I forgot about a couple of Fishermans in the "tinker section"    I want to find a SAK with a Fender or Martin guitars logo on it, would be awesome if was an inlay too....  :dd:

And what is that one?

Thx El C!

It's exact origin is unknown but the outline of a ship + the Welsh dragons passant (walking) points to ties to the historic ship building industry in Wales.

The one with a Pruner blade is an original Outdoorsman.

The only knife I've seen lately was a run or GEC's with a "dreadnought" shield...I bought one for my son in law a couple of years ago.

That looks like an ad knife for a German or Swiss "big brother" program.
Totally!

Or like I mentioned above, a tweezer scale but no toothpick scale

The little things that make it fun...

Got another one to add to the collection.   No keyring Spartan - Nagra - Just did a quick bit of research:

Nagra is a series of mostly battery-operated portable professional audio recorders produced by Kudelski SA, based in Cheseaux-sur-Lausanne, Switzerland.-brand tape recorders were the de facto standard sound recording systems for motion picture and (non-video) single-camera television production from the 1960s until the 1990s.

Most of the metal inlay ads I find are Swiss...  actually, all of them so far except the Brookstone.

I typically don't like knives with advertisements, but I had to have this sportsman. The inlay is the same as the nickname for my dog that passed away not long before I saw this for sale.

I'm glad I finally found the same mark on my knife, but I still don't know what it stands for. I'm looking forward to your answer.
