There is no beginning,or ending,and for this we are thankful,cos now is hard enough to understand!

Boring serious answer: you can choose to not show your online status to others.  Go to Profile > Modify Profile > Account Settings and uncheck Show others my online status.  Do this and you become one of the Hidden Users.

that seems to be a mod only option. thus the hidden user watching you all the time must be a mod or admin
