I haven't regretted buying one!
I would even prefer my CD and my MP600 to an LM IMO!

Is it normal that the pliers are a little bit open when it's closed?

Yarp, it's because the pliers are spring loaded.

I just ordered a CD. Wanted to see how it compares to my modded MP600. If i like it, i might even integrate a lot of its tool implements into the CD

I wished I would have had mine with me yesterday.  I could have put that bit driver to good use.

I read through the 30 day challenge you did with it last year, seems like a great tool. Especially that bit driver got lots of use  :tu:

It really is, Sir V.  That bit driver alone is worth the cost of the tool.  More times than not, if I'm working on something I ask my son to go get the Center Drive.

Congrats on getting a CD, one of Gerber's finest tools in my opinion  :tu:.

And it does not only feel good in hand, it also looks good, as shown in your beautiful picture .

Yepp, I know  :D I modded it already, but decided against the saw holder for the time being. I replaced the scribe with an awl from a MP600 (like that one better) and replaced the serrated blade with scissors.

I had a hard time loosening the screws to do the mod. There was so much loctite on it, I messed up the screws head pretty good  Luckily the pivot and screw are the same as on the MP600, so I had spares  :D

Here you go:

Used the scissors from a Suspension. They only work when the handles are open, but because of the spring loaded pliers this is not a big deal for me. The scissors from the MP's don't fit, and are not usable, unless you cut the handle.

I noticed that on the weekend too.  Unfortunately!  I've tried both.  Once the suspension and the MP.  I didn't want to edit the slider.  Not that it doesn't fit after all.  Let's see what solutions there will be in the future ... But the CD + scissors are not an option for me
