Thanks to JonesE, I now own a black oxide ST300! :hatsoff:  He had an extra laying around, and I accepted his generous offer to send it my way. Having a backup won't hurt a dang thing, especially since my regular ST300 can now get a much-needed bath. Shown below are two tools I'll use when I replace a cartridge oil filter in a 2024 Explorer.

Great to see it being put to good use. I am happy it went to a good home. Look forward to seeing what use you get out of it.

:hatsoff: The black oxide ST300 will get put to work next week. (Owing to local laws, I only carry it if I'm at home or work.)

Carrying the workhorse before I take her apart. The serrated blade is opening when I open the saw, which is stiff.

I've noticed that the finish on black oxide PSTs and STs can be either matte or glossy, is this a result of wear or did the finish change at a certain point?

I am thinking the matte is true black oxide and the shiny is perhaps a DLC type coating  LM never really has said one way or the other on the topic though (at least I am not sure of they have :salute: )
