This is what I submit today:
My proposal is to produce a Evolution Grip S54 WITHOUT:
1.   Scissors.
2.   Fish Scaler / Hook Disgorger.
3.   Compas, Ruler and Sight Line device.
The Fish Scaler is in my opinion rather useless in any situation. When you go out fishing you have a special fishing knife with you. When you have to eat a fish in a survival situation, you don’t mind about the fish’s scale nor the hook in its throat! Nothing that your knife Blade and Pliers couldn’t handle.
The same applies for the Scissors. At the office I have professional scissors, and in any other situation a sharp knife will do the job. There is no need to cut paper or textile when I am in Africa.
The tiny compass is not really needed. Most people have a larger and better compass at hand in their ‘grab bag’. Plus this compass and ruler make the knife much thicker than needed.
What I like especially about the standard Grip S54 pocket knife -besides all other tools- is the Magnifying Glass. When you lose your reading spectacles or are examining small wounds, insects and especially insect bites, the Magnifying Glass in cooperation with the tweezers is irreplacable!
The locks on the Main Blade and the two Screw Drivers are very usefull.
The Pliers are also important for small repairs (did you ever try to repair a bended hook of your boots with bare hands?), and also for removing bigger splinters out of wounds. I even once used it as an improvised cap crimper during demolition work!
A partially serrated Knife Blade would be a welcome addition.
Eventually the Nail File/Cleaner could be replaced with a small pen knife. A spare small knife is very usefull and trimming you finger nails can also be done with the metal file.

Bring back the 84mm scissors.

I could have made more suggestions, like now that they own Wenger put the wrench into more models opposite the inline phillips, or more models with the less common backside tools (Huntsman + chisel, come on, it's a perfect whittler), or build your own SAK system (starting price $80, anyone?). I could have said bury the Wengers or try to buy rights to the LM flat bits for a bit holder that is useful to more people. But honestly, I want 84mm SAKs with scissors.

Although a Huntsman with the compact's hook, a chisel, and add a layer for a inline phillips and the wrench would be pretty kickass.

Wow it's nice that they're listening to consumers and it should give new innovations to the SAK.  :climber:

I wonder if the 74mm ones would fit in Strat pickup's... Just needed to drill the 6 holes for the pole pieces and done...  :ahhh  :D

Together we stand!

I'm not buying the Pioneer X, hoping they'll release the farmer X.
How hard can it be??

I think the idea was that alox would be a simpler, more minimal knife at its inception..   Hence the Pioneer that has stayed the same for so many years and inspired our beloved Soldiers, SI's and DAKs.

Naturaly, if they build a farmer X, you might wonder where they should stop.
After bringing out an alox Swisschamp? :dwts:

Might not have the same charm as the good old 2 layer alox knives, but I do feel like the Farmer X is a missing link.

Not really, I need alox only for edc which, for me, limits the layers to 4.

What I would like to have for edc are farmer X, fieldmaster, and 84 mm and 110 mm equivalent. I consider the tool set of knife, openers, saw and scissors to be the best for all around EDC.  :climber:

From the bigger saks line up all I want is cybertool 41 and maybe swisschamp xlt. Neither is of course useful as a part of pants based EDC system. Maybe if you carry some kind of sheet or bag...  :D
