Anyone have their MT stolen out of airline-checked bags?

Just wondering... when I fly, I tend to pack either a SwissTool or a Charge in my suitcase, which often has come in very handy at destination. Normally not so that it can easily be reached, but the bags are soft and don't have a lock. The strap has a combo lock (TSA approved).

So far I may just have been lucky that nothing got stolen, judging by recent news about some baggage handlers being arrested in Rome Fuimicino on pilfering charges, but then these guys were after ipads, laptops and the like (which I never put in checked baggage).

Anyone who'd like to share their story?
Cheers!

No issues, I pack any of my sharp items deep into my checked bag, so not as easy to snatch.  Electronics are in carry on

Hope it never happens to anyone...

I too pack my MT and SAK deep inside my check-in luggage... inside one of my spare pants pockets...

I simply don't bring my Charge when traveling by air and instead check in my Wingman

Granted it'd be slightly less of a loss, but still...

You're right, of course. As someone from here told me before, all tools are essentially valuable...

So far I've had no problems. My EDC gets buried in a toilet kit in checked luggage along with the razor, spare glasses, flash light, etc; so it probably gets lost in the clutter when scanned. Any new items I buy are wrapped in several packages and buried in the dirty clothes.

Similar strategy here...it's worked so far (since 9/11).  :hatsoff:

Never had any problem.

Anyway I think it's far far more likely for the entire luggage to be stolen/lost than tampered with.
