Recently purchased a Leatherman Bond and Rebar, so these would be my current use multitools.  I would pair them with either a Victorinox Minichamp or an Explorer Plus for the scissors and edc pocket knife use.

Great choice.  I always have a Rambler on my keychain, so I'm always covered to some degree, and don't feel like I need to carry larger scissors at all.

The Rebar has the bases covered for sure, so it's easy to just pair it with a folder or traditional.

Agreed, the Rambler, another great little SAK.  I was actually thinking about switching the Minichamp out for a Rambler.

I like the 58mm SAKs but I have always been more drawn to the 74mm line, namely the Executive :dd: More for the size of blade it has (I can cut up an apple no problem with it ;) ) the scissors are just just tiny bit bigger as well :salute: I can pair it with most of my MTs and get by on a daily basis :woohoo:

The Executive is a great knife for sure and just the right size for a lot of tasks.  That combination phillips/bottle opener the Rambler has is one of my most used tools though, so it wins out for me.  Plus, the 58mm fits great on my keychain, so I always have it with me without thinking about it.

The Stayglow Rambler I've had on my keychain for countless years is starting to look a bit shabby and needs some refurb.  This morning I dug around in my pile of backup Ramblers ( ::)) and realized I have a Vagabond.  I broke out the calipers and measured the Vagabond to be only 1.05 mm wider than the Rambler.  I decided to put in on the keychain for a while.  It's another one to consider, since it has all of the best tools of the Minichamp without the extras that are rarely used and just take up pocket space.

The Vagabond is actually my most favorite of the 58s  I only have one and wished I had more :ahhh

I like the Rambler and the Minichamp as well  :salute:

That little Phillips opener is something I wished came on more sized SAKs :dd: :like:

I need to give those a look.  I have never owned a 74mm SAK.  I like the idea of those tools being a little bigger.  Thanks for the tip.

Never heard of the Vagabond.  I’ll be checking that one out too.

I thought I’d check out EBay for used versions of a Vagabond or Executive and instead ended up ordering a new Compact from another site to compliment the Bond and Rebar.  I couldn’t resist the full size SAK scissors and plus scales in such a pocketable package...and I’ve been a long time fan of the 91mm size blade and scissors for a lot of my edc tasks.  It’s also been pretty common for my wife or kids to ask for the tweezers and stick pin to remove splinters through the years, so I’ve found those items come in pretty handy often enough too.  Not to mention a SAK seems to go unnoticed when using it in “mixed” company.  All in all I think it will compliment the Bond and Rebar about as good as anything (based on what I’ve found to be my typical needs/uses over the years).

The Compact is a fantastic choice to pair with any scissor-less multi!!  So much greatness in a 2-layer SAK that virtually disappears in the pocket.
