New page banana dance...

:nanadance:   :climber:   :nanadance:   :climber:  :nanadance:

I'm going to have to think about this.... It's usually a 2-SAK combo for me... pocket & keychain...  where do yawl keep the 3rd SAK??

Watch pocket, belt sheath and keychain.
Or in the SAKsack... err... Rucksack.
I cannot have all at person all the time.

Going with this Trifecta for today.  SI, Ambassador, Spartan

Spartan in the jacket pocket, but it will soon be too warm for a jacket around here. ..

Now see, wouldn’t be handy to have a bladeless SAK to complement the SI? Less tool duplication. :D
Maybe a two layer with saw, scissors, corkscrew.

My usual Trifecta:

This SwissCard classic in my wallet ever since I bought it:

This modified Mini Champ on my key ring. No flashlight or pen. Replaced light and pen scales on an old red LED Mini Champ whose scales had seen much better days, were beyond restoration, and replaced them with standard Classic sapphire scales to have a Mini Champ with both tweezers and toothpick. Been on my key ring ever since.

On my belt, as usual, is the 40 year old Woodsman:

John

Well, not really "SAK trifecta" but it works.  Spartan's in the Jeep in case a corkscrew is needed.

Good job on your mods Pabs  :tu:
Over the last week's it appeared that only 2/3 of my Trifecta stayed constant.
The Minichamp and the Cybertool 41.
The Compact is being challenged by my olive Pioneer a lot

My Celidor mod has been upgraded, and the modded pioneer (which succumbed to bad peening syndrome  ) replaced by my new '99 Soldier.  :salute:

The Three-Pronged Approach to Maintaining the Sovereignty of Unit 57

Prong-1:  Unit 57-C
Victorinox Compact.  Unit 57-C is a speSmurfpillst in Covert missions and reconnaissance operations.  At unfateful and prosaic times, cleverly hidden within a suit or slacks, sometimes riding undetected in ostentatious vacation attire, the smaller size and black scales blend into surroundings where a knife or multitool isn't generally part of the usual accouterments.  Unit 57-C will be sent in for any situations where a knife or multitools are not needed or isn't should one say? - not expected to be needed.  Unit 57-C isn't trained for wilderness survival and is minimally equipped for a 2-mile loop of trail.  However, it is capable of handling any and all unexpected light duties where Unit 57 is unable to, or for whatever reason, unwilling to lead the command.  It is in all of these Force Recon missions where it excels - where it can stand in and fully execute all tasks that Unit 57 itself has been shown to be exceptional at completing.  Though in addition to these primary responsibilities, Unit 57-C is able to quickly dispatch of paperwork and is fully trained as an independent duty Medic, should the need arise.  It should also be said that Unit 57-C always operates alone, without backup or support, and is therefore considered an elite member of the unit.  Indeed, Unit 57-C has spent more time than any of the other members of the team in metal detectors and in lockers, knowing full well that on any given day it may be sacrificed to Security Forces.

Prong-2: Unit 57
Victorinox Pioneer X.  Unit-57 is a recent upgrade from a more-than-dozen year charge lead by the Soldier.  Unit-57 has the current responsibilities of day to day tasks in the city and suburbs, where typical repair and servicing has not been needed in quite some time now.  However, a responsibility inherent in this modified role is that Unit 57 must always be at the ready to operate in missions to the woods and wilderness. Unit 57 must take on this task independently, should the opportunity present itself.  Unit 57 maintains KP duties as a core role, should the need arise.  In the long history Unit 57 over generations, and on past campaigns ... it has been said that Unit 57 has opened canned rations in several remote locations, on beaches, islands, and in forests where otherwise, the grub would have been stuck inside the can.  A not-infrequent and core mission of Unit 57 us to liberate both foreign and domestic beers from their bottles.   Unit 57 must maintain full screw-driving and tightening credentials, but need not engage with specialized bits and screws. A unique capability of Unit 57 is to ream out small breaches in various locations without the deployment of the main blade, and this is one of the major reasons it has kept the charge for so long.  The revamping of Unit 57 is with the addition of scissors - this has broadened the Units more urban responsibilities in the way of opening packets carefully, in minor hygiene, and for basic first aid.  Unfortunately, Unit 57 itself is not a fully trained Medic, as instead, it has added qualifications in cutting, and durability.

Prong-3: Unit 57-T
Victorinox One Handed Trekker.  The most recent addition to the team, Unit 57-T is in the Treks, Trails, Tents, and Tactical division of Unit 57.  Unit 57-T is not trained for solo missions, as one might expect.  Unit 57-T is purely in a support role for Unit 57 proper and always accompanies the lead unit.  Unit 57-T mainly functions as an expeditionary unit for minimum 2 to 3-day outings in the wilderness where wood needs to be cut.  Unit-57 is also capable at fire-craft and can handle some light prying.  An essential function of Unit-57 is for backup KP duties, and it is fully capable in this regard.  Unit-57 is also required to be able to handle any and all repairs that would be expected of Unit-57.  A unique privilege afforded to Unit 57-T is that of a tactical Show of Force maneuver.  It is imperative to understand that a Show of Force maneuver must be fully sanctioned, and can only be used in certain circumstances.  It can only be employed when it is charged by another equally sized, locking, one-hand opening blade, where its capability has been called into direct question.  In no other situation is a Show of Force maneuver authorized.  Show of Force maneuvers are not permitted against any unarmed subject, and against no other weapons - it can NOT be used in self-defense.  It must be re-stated that Unit 57-T is in a support role, and duly noted that in this capacity can augment Unit-57's medical scope up to that of a fully equipped Medic unit.

In rare instances, Unit 57 and all it's support units may be asked to stand down from a mission.  In its stead, a Swisschamp or LM Wave may be deployed conditionally to a Special Operations theater for a limited and specific mission.  Though by and large Unit 57, and its support units are capable of and have been deployed to 99% of all missions in the last several years.

Unit 81( front and centre) with accompanying support units 81 C, and 81F.

Unit 81 is used for all general trade duties, kitchen , gardening and handyman works. Takes beatings without complaint and comes back for seconds.  Extra burly and rough for the no nonsense business of bending the surrounds to its masters will.
So manly it requires no colours bar it's shield tattoo from the skilled hands who crafted it.

Unit 81 C(arving and Crafting)is used for fine detail carving work  and the occasional screwdriver task requiring it's depth and range in the Phillips department. Clad in the red robes befitting it's learned status.

Unit 81 F(ormal) handles the ceremonial and parade duties required.  Resplendent in the always in style black,  81 F gets the job done, saves the day and looks good doing it.

Referred to by some as Pioneer, Tinker and Spartan.
