I had a few, gave them all away to my sons-in-law. A flashlight and a blade is all I need, that stems from my uniform days. Nowadays if i need pliers I go to the tool chest. I kept Mr. Pinchy; which was issued to me in 1994. I gave away, a swisstool, a Spirit and a leatherman Surge. And oh yeah a skeletool.

I've got a few multitools, but I often find that I don't carry them. 

Usually have some dedicated tools nearby. Even in the car or truck.

I think my carry needs, at least vis a vis EDC, can be filled by a good SAK and a small flashlight.

I'm trying to incorporate pliers-based multitools into my regular carry, but I find I don't really need them much anymore.

The exception to that is when I go on motorcycle rides. Always keep a multitool handy on those occasions.

Same here, I carried a pliers based multitool for a long time, but never really used them...like you a good solid SAK, a flashlight and a pen is all I need.
