I think for most people that wear glasses, like me, this is hardly a viable option. As a collectors item sure, but have those on your nose everyday and you will end up with big sore spots on your nose.
At least from the way they look like, i think they will be too heavy.

If any other company had made something like that, they would be lambasted for it.

While I like seeing some innovations (or at least new and different stuff) being released by Victorinox I have a hard time imagining these will sell well.

But what are the tools? The scissors seem like 58mm ones, but the cap lifter seems more like a Wenger/Delémont edition cap lifter and the corkscrew seems to have 5 turns, similar to the 130 mm line ones. Did they just pack up a crate of scissors in Ibach and then had the Delémont facility do the actual production?

[Edit:] It helps a lot that it seems like the tools are removable from the main frame of the glasses, and they should pair up nicely with a soldier or similar without the scissors and corkscrew...

Wouldn’t you need your glasses on to see what you were doing with them?

Weight should be no problem... look at older glasses (past century) they are large and with real glass (we called them bottle-bottoms). If you have  5+D of correction on them, they weight more.

That said, it is gadgety and I wouldn't wear it. But I like the tools...
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Ah. One other thing. I am still not 100% certain it is an April Fools or not. But, this may help sway any doubt of the Vic glass' legitimacy.

GlassesUSA is a real business. They do not have Victorinox listed as a brand they sell.
https://www.glassesusa.com/designer-glasses

If the survival RX did not have the corkscrew it would be a much more believable offering. Does not seem to have a nail file either. But of course Leatherman's new "Free" series of multi tools use magnets to hold everything in place. Sometimes Leatherman just does not pick the best names for their products. The new "Free" series looks very nice and using the magnets are ingenious. Imho the name "Free" just spoils the whole thing as far as advertising. Those little Classic SD's made by Victorinox are very light in the first place and if used in the glasses with less tools on them they would weigh so little. I wear prescription glasses. I do not buy glass frames the have brand logos on them that would be visible to others. I am going to embarrass myself now and say its 50/50 that the Survival RX is real or not. I say this because I am from the boomer generation and completely do not understand how young people think.

Excellent points, 264!

I'd buy it if it were real, but it would be for the collection only. I feel the same way about branded frames. I like frame brands inside the ear piece. :iagree:

Have to agree on the LM Free name too. Not catchy or memorable at all. Doesn't even seem like an MT name.

Thanks Gerleatherberman,

Found this link if you watch the little 1 minute video.
https://www.glassesusa.com/swissarmy#this

They say you can pre-order and prices start at $130.00 more or less. They ask for your email address. I sent them mine still have not heard back. I think the Nicole Matthews looks like she is having a very difficult time not laughing in the promo video.
