And here, I thought handsaws were in general, safer than power tools.   I have what's called a "Padhacksaw" from the 1960s. It's a pistol-grip hacksaw that is spring-loaded to give a reciprocating action. Handy, if you're careful, and it really makes the work easier. Yet, the butt end of the saw is a major pinch-point and has tore my hand open quite a few times. Hope you heal up soon!

Interesting saw concept there. So many cool designs from that era. :)

What got me was that I had glued a block of wood in as a patch, and proceeded to trim it down with the coping saw. Something I've done a thousand times. But, finishing the cut(using my left hand), it cut through faster than anticipated and the force I was using to cut through the wood caused the thin blade to travel over to my right hand that was holding the board I was patching. And the momentum was accompanied by a pull stroke that made the finger cut. I do feel lucky that I didn't damage a tendon this time. A little penetration of the knuckle bone's cortical layer was the worst part, and makes it particularly painful for a finger cut.

Thank you much, Cody!

And please be careful with that saw! Speed is never a good trade for increasing the chance of injury. I know, I get injured a lot getting in a hurry, but part of me knows better. Just gotta tap into the patience part of the brain. :ahhh

Maybe we could request a “Purple Badge” to be offered.

You must have suffered injury in the line if duty using a Knife or Multitool with complete photographic evidence to support the injury in the line on duty/action.
