Been around the block a few times...

Let's see those knives that had signs of wear the minute you got 'em. Show off your USED acquisitions: Previously-owned NIBs and "never opened" SAKs need not apply.

Right now, I only have two - a silvertech Climber and a Wenger "Swiss Buck" Remedy.

My collection is probably 50/50 NIB and used.  Here's an old Wenger Handyman on the edge of my tool chest with an old Schrade.

I have a few, 2 Vagabonds gifted to me by son a couple Christmas ago, he found on the bay site. One has the flat blade, the other a 3-d Phillips.

A variety of Classic models that part of TSA seizures, and then another bought at an Estate-sale.

Pictures to follow some time when I change devices.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I've only bought a few new SAKs.  I get most from trades or the fleamarket.  Some do come in very nice shape tho but most require a bath and lots of attention.

As promised, pictures of my 5 previously owned SAKs, not including several Classics.

And a Old Cross Electrician found in my new old desk after I returned for a special task.  No one recalled anyone using it between my departure and return.

Here's my worn-in Pioneer with '98 shank stamp.   I've seen a couple of these with the '98 stamps.

I agree. The wear really does give the knife a story. Wish I'd known about and bought a new red OC Pioneer when they were available.

My current EDC, a Wenger PTC, came with a bent blade tip, which I largely was able to fix, blade sharpening that lost the original profile, and worn scales. Love this thing :tu:

Both my EDC's were bought used, my loyal SC had springs and pen replaced by me, and I got it's scales swapped in the Warsaw showroom, so doesn't look like a beater at first glance, but the heat marks in the small blade and the corrosion in the file as well as smaller marks tell it actually has been used.

The CT41, my current urban EDC has even less telltale marks because it was so "well" used when I got it with scales and outer liners smashed, pliers bent, blade loose and couple other implements broken as well, couple bits missing. Now the really noticeable signs are the discolored driver and a small bend in the can opener that doesn't really show.

Now on one hand it makes me happy thinking that these tools were used (well, misused too) but what kinda irked me is that both were sold to me as being in solid, good working condition.

My collection is most SAKs, maybe I should get pics when I get some inspiration, though most interesting tools I've given as gifts to be used again. And I do like a little wear on those tools, so the user isn't so limited by preserving the tool. They're meant to be used, and can be send in anyway if they do get badly damaged.
