Not so great Leatherman customer service

In my quest to make another Micra Sideclip I need a E series knife pocket clip. So I contacted Sun Imports(Aus.LM importer) & they said try a resale out let, I then I said "so as the official importer/service of Leatherman products & parts you are telling me to try a retail out let for parts"    what a brush off. So I then contacted Leatherman USA customer service & sent a email & pics of my modded Micra & how I would like a clip so I could make one for a friend who helped me get some hard to find MT's(I did not tell them they were SOG's .). Initially the lady thought I wanted a Sideclip clip even though clearly in the photo it is not a Sideclip clip & that I had asked for a E series knife clip. Another email latter I got in reply " E series knives are no longer being made &  parts are not avaliable for sale"  , so if you loose your removable pocket clip from a LM knife LM will not supply a replacement  . I know I have not "lost" a pocket clip , I was being honest in that I said I wanted the pocket clip to mod a Micra . I also mentioned I was a active member of this wonderful forum . I know Sun Imports does not believe in customer service but I was a little disappointed LM USA could not have been a bit more helpful

That is a shame. I haven't seen any of the new expanse / crater knives yet, but I think I recall someone saying that the clips have changed, but you woul have expected that LTG would have access to some for warranty repairs etc, wouldn't you? They do advertise it as a "removable pocket clip" too.

Sorry to hear about that MM Usually the LM US is a bit more helpful What happens when you send in an old E series knife and want to keep it and they need to replace the clip Perhaps they won't send one but if you were to send in an E series knife perhaps they are keeping them to fix those who send in the knife for warranty work

Anywoo they should have helped with an answer other than that

They were very prompt in there response to my inquiries. I was not sure if my messages would get through as I sent pics & I am not sure what kind of mail filtering occurs with a business like LM .
I am wondering if your email got too them mate  .
