Display cabinet.
on: January 20, 2020, 10:25:54 PM
I want/need to have a display cabinet to store my Leathermans in.
What can i find on the market?
I would like it to be nice to look at so that my Leathermans look the best.
Is there such a thing to buy here in Europe?

Feel free to link to the point of purchase.

Sorry for my crappy english.

Welcome to MTO Swedish_Wiking

You might try visiting small shops (not the big outdoor franchise stores, no, I mean the really small shops) where they sell Leatherman Tools, some of those small shops have official Leatherman Display cabinets that they no longer use, or which are as good as empty, or even stored away in the basement.  Just check out as many of these small shops as you can, and don't hesitate to ask if they have some Leatherman promo material, like display cabinets, banners, etc ... that they don't use anymore, and that they are maybe willing to give/sell to you.

I got lucky a couple of times like this in the past, got a nice Leatherman Charge Banner this way (for free), and a week before Christmas I went to another shop that I frequently visit and noticed that the Leatherman Display Cabinet they had on the counter was gone, asked if they got rid of it and the shop owner said they had stored it in the back.

They:  "Why?  Would you like to have it ... ?"
Me:  "Yes please"  :D

Again, for free  :tu:.  This cabinet really put a smile on my face, and the store owner was excited to see how happy I was (with something they were probably just going to throw in the trash).

Pics of the Charge Banner (oh, and did I mention that I had it signed by Mr. Leatherman himself  :D).

And here's my "new" display cabinet (bad pic, taken inside, bad lighting  ::)):

Don't know if this will work out for you, but I've found some nice stuff this way, and sometimes, sometimes ... you find that old "new stock" Leatherman PST or Crunch, or that old SOG,or Kershaw A100, or a complete collection of old Wenger SAKs that way, ask me how I know  :pok:.

Good luck with the search  :salute:.

Welcome aboard SW.
I found on our local version of fleabay a glass trophy cabinet for about 65US$ bought from a primary school.
4 layers of shelves, spotlights and a lockable door.
I have spread the collection and a few other collectables over the shelves,
I also got some super magnets which allows me to double and hang tools on the underside of the shelves or stick to the side of the cabinet.
Apologies for the poor photos but I was battling to get focus of the tools through the glass.

Works well but is nearly full so will either have to stop buying LMs or get a bigger cabinet. Probably will let you know how the cabinet hunt went,
I am also fortunate enough to have ManCave so Herself does  not have moan about the collection in the lounge,

I’ve made mine from scratch, originally it was a charging station, underneath a lightning strip and all electronics plugged in just leaving a little wire, and I had in the back a slot for my magazines and a smaller one for my pens, but then I didn’t need the slot for the magazines and figured a shelf would be nice and spread the knives out, I also wanted to add a lamp (something unique) and a place to hang my watches, so after doing some research and my little buddy’s help this is now my display cabinet,,
