Interesting that none of Vic's photos show the bottle opener on the fork.

I was wondering about that too. Maybe the photos were done with a prototype that did not include a cap lifter yet?

I’ve been waiting for this to become available so I could gift one to my Aunt who owns a cheese shop.  I’m getting it shipped directly to her, so there will be no pictures.

I doubt it.
Last year's edition for Switzerland only also includes it. Maybe they find the view aesthetically unpleasing when displayed

Yey ! It arrived and I love it. The semi serrated blade is great for bread and fruit the cheese knife works well and the fondue fork works well for pickles. Enjoying a picnic in my garden.  :drink:

Used the bottle opener on the fork to open a beer bottle tonight. It worked, but not quite as smooth as the 91/93mm bottle opener. More like the rambler one. Works, but a little more awkward to use.

Ah, thanks for that - I have a midnite minichamp, so I know what you mean - there’s a knack to it, but not as efficient as the 91/93. Thanks again! :hatsoff:

Nice knife. I think it needs a can opener and a spoon.

I didn’t get to handle it but I bought one for my Aunt who has a cheese shop.  She absolutely loves it.  She said she would give me some pictures and better feedback after really putting it to use.  Unfortunately, that may be a while out because she is extremely busy right now.

I succumbed - the bottle opener works much better than I thought! Not tried the soft cheese knife, but here it is next to its bigger brother which I got from the London store - an uncollected special order which I got at a discount!

Just ordered a farmer X today - but I didn't want it to be lonely on the long flight from Germany so I've got a cheese master on the way!  Can't wait to try that funky looking bottle opener to pair with some cheese! How is that serrated knife at slicing bread?

Now I understand why Vic lowered the price of the Cheese Knife.

Got to try out the cheesemaster to pop the top off a cold one. Even better I’m actually watching the Blue Jays while drinking it!
As SVL said, you have to maneuver it a bit to get it under the cap, but it definitely works!

Why does the serrated blade stop at 90 degrees like the bottle opener on a regular SAK?  Can anyone enlighten me?

Added safety for when you've had too much wine with your cheese?

Yes I spotted that and wondered that too!
Added safety for when you've had too much wine with your cheese?
And that is what I thought.

Does anyone know if that feature is on all non OHO 111mm liner-lock blades?   ???

The thing that bothers me about the Cheese Master is that they can machine a new fondue fork but not machine 84mm scissors
Of course we all want the 84mm scissors back - Although there are the Delémonts of course  :pok:   ;)
Good point - But it's not quite that simple, is it?

Victorinox have stated that the scissors are the most expensive and complex tool they make.
Four parts, two to stamp out, tumbling, two sharpening operations, maybe more complex hardening as there are blades?  ??? and an assembly!

Whereas the fork is one piece that will be stamped out, hardened and tumbled.

If it was on the OHO blades - I'd be very happy.  Having to be sure that I am pushing the blade open past the point of it snapping closed due to the backspring is frustrating. With cold wet hands... forget it.

I'm pretty sure it's on all 111's.  Here's where my Trekker stops.  Not quite 90 degrees.
For sure to keep from closing the blade on your thumb as it holds the liner lock open.

  I knew I shouldn't have gone for the OHO Nomad over the Adventurer for my "getting into trouble for the day" carry.

My non-OHO Forester has the same half stop. Just another reason i prefer non-OHO over OHO  :tu:
