   RF

These are my personal initial thoughts.
Don't take my words for it by all means:

The OHO is... useful. I mean, it works.
But it's not butter smooth (yet?).
However, for me that's just fine.
I don't need that often.

The rest is simply great !
I like the blade profile with the straightened swedge as well. It appears more solid to the tip.
Came razor sharp out of the box.
The G10 scales are rock solid. They don't flex a bit.
The torx construction is a nice touch. I had no problem adjusting the pivot to my liking in no time.
The clip is well made too, with a good tension, no raised edges and flush screws.
And with 93 grams it's half the weight of a 112.

If you are a fan of the classic 110 then this might be...
...a nice update for a change
...something lighter to carry in your shorts, pyjamas
...another awesome knife to add to the stach
...yet another reason for her to call you names
...a good opportunity to blame Stitchy

 :D

My experience with the Slim Pro and the Hunter Sport was that both became considerably smoother with use over time than they were right out of the box, though I certainly don’t expect they will ever match the smoothness of a ball bearing flipper, for example.

Bucks are one of my favorite knifes to own and use, as a lefty I fully I trust the lock back to keep my blade in place and keep my fingers attracted.

The last few months I added three  new 112s, first was to be fingergroove, but a Ebony Drop point caught my fancy and then added a Grey Slim Select to cart on sale.   I also waited for the April BOTM, and gave up buying a Saunter 250 to satisfy my itch.
It arrived the day the April BOTM Dropped with same scales and steel.

Oh my! Yes it is :iagree:
I just love a 112 fitted with a drop point blade.
And S35VN steel makes me weak in the knees.

Saw last night, the Saunter " was out of stock",  I wonder if I had something to do with that

Knife shopping is so fun, from the web so tempting where as catalogs required addition actions to complete an order.  ???

At least SMKW print a catalog to truly feed my temptations.

In store bargains found Saturday, could not resist.  Each was marked down to $19.63 each. (Discontinued?) Nearby Rural King. And I did not buy all available! :salute:   yet

That Bucklite hunter prompts me to ask if anyone has tried the Buck 113?

I know of one hunting guide who loves it. The Ranger Skinner seems to be a cross between the Ranger folder and the Vanguard. Sometimes these crosses prove to be brilliant, sometimes.......  :dunno:

I was planning to buy a Vanguard a few years ago, and also looked seriously at the 113, when I found a 673. The previous version of the Buck lite MaxII.

That spring season I joined a family friend on a Bear Hunt, (archery) in NE Canada.  And brought the 673, no fear if consifated.  Ended up she scored a Black Bear, her camp guide was scouting about a mile away and the film crew (being filmed for women sporting show)   were still on the trail setting up equipment . The result, between her, her husband and i, there was only 1 knife, mine!   It did what was required, but not by my hand.  I still have, still sharp, and has never been touched with exception of a steel and scrolling.  Same knife in my eye with a similar grind and same 420HC BOSS Steel

I'm feeling sporty today  :mail:

Unsealed micarta, smooth and grippy...

The bolster around the blade pivot is wider compared to the regular Rangers...

The back portion of the tang is better covered in closed position as well due to it...

All torx screwed construction is great! But the thumb stud is pressed on, which annoys me, because it gets in the way with my Lansky sharpening system (I might change them to somehing screwed)...

Buck typical fit and finish...

Due to the aluminum frame it's quite a bit lighter than a regular 112, and together with the deep carry pocket clip it carries very well in my front pockets. I love it  :tu:
