Apples to oranges  :D I rather have the Samsung any day of the week over the Apple  ;)

Over the years I've had them all. If we stick with smartphones (lest we end up in the late 80's) I've done, in no particular order;

BlackberryAndroidWindows/Apple
Blackberry: Good for work/msg etc (nothing else)
Windows: Well it was Windows (the camera was brilliant though, Nokia 1020)
Android: Sony & Samsung devices only for personal use; Experia Arc & S3. My current work device is a "heavily" locked down Note 8
Apple: I've used them since the iPhone 6 Plus

What made me change from Android was someone showing me how his Apple "just worked" At the time Android had released an update (for whatever the OS was then) but another mate, who had a Sony (don't know which one) and his daughter, who had something from HTC (remember them?) couldn't have the OS update because their phone manufacturers hadn't updated it's own in-house OS (my own S3 did work though)

He then said to me, with a smile (read smirk) "sometimes, you just want things to work"

I know Apple has it's faults but, everything, with ALL of my devices has been seamless, from OS to Apps.

Therefore, I'm unlikely to return to Android unless ALL manufacturers agree to disagree and only offer Vanilla (pure Android) devices without company bloatware and ensure ALL updates and Apps work across ALL devices

Day 3 - nice pics everyone! Mine for today is my new palm sander. I was going for the orbital one at first but I can only get one of them right now and I will have more use out of this one. I already had the battery

Day three!

It's a bit big for a AA light, but I like how I can stick my right-angle magnetic headlamp anywhere.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Day3

Having just finished the 30 day Unleashed challenge over on the Edge Tools board I have a bunch of extra photos hanging around. This one in particular was going to be my day 30 and then I decided to go another direction.
( and it sure beats looking at a new photo of the same old EDC....again)

It is just an assortment up some oddball multi-tools.

Lets start with big blue butterfly tool. This is the kobalt painters multi-tool from Lowe's. This is pretty much the entire drywall repair kit a multi-tool format. Obviously unique thing about this is ot replaces the typical pliers with a combo scraper tool. A drywall saw, extended Phillips, knife, and combo bottle&can opener w/ screwdriver tip round out the pack. This is a really handy tool when you are doing painting and drywall tasks. My only complaint about it is the long drop point blade or I would have rather had a shorter sheepsfoot for scoring paper.

Next is another Kobalt; thisone the wrench/utility knife. This is an odd one as it is a wrench first and a knife second. The wrench is a clench type self ratcheting claw while the box cutter is of the mini-blade type, both locking. It is big and blocky and all that affords a comfortable grip for the wrench it's not a very functional tool over all. It's big and heavy but both the wrench and the knife for relatively small.

With the orange handle does the Allways folding pocket saw. This saw uses 3in pieces of standard hacksaw blade and has a simple screw lock

Most will recognize this ubiquitous Cattleman's combo tool or Jeep multi-tool with a pliers on one end and crescent wrench on the other.

And lastly a fury folding boat and dive knife. This has a unique mechanism where the handle is actually to Shell's the pivot on the black hidden disc at the pommel end. To open /close the knife you spread the handles apart and the blade is hinge to one handle so will fold inside with a locking pin in the other handle which wedges in place

I used to be a lot of things, and someday will again.
But for now I'm just a lost jack of trades with neither mastery nor home. ~NoaIsumi

Day 3

For me sunglasses are crucial for avoiding migraines, so I thought I’d take a pic with my Case Canoe that I was carrying today.

Today is my little tool kit, I carry this stuffed Maxpedition Mini Organiser in my work bag or sometimes car:

Contents L-R:

A cheap but comprehensive lock pick set I don't mind ditching if need be (black pouch), a double ended driver with two sizes of Phillips and flathead, chunky black marker, Bic, LM Bit Extender, Duct Tape around a store card, Thorfire PF01 (AAA), full bit kit (both cards stacked), Leatherman Wave, Uvex safety glasses wipes (I use them for my eyeglasses and phone screen), Clinell Antibacterial handwipes.

Day 04

A meeting of different generations...

Got that Champion some years ago. It only has the small SD, a fluted CS and the awl without the sewing eye as backtools. It probably got sent to the repair shop. Bottle opener has no 90 degree stop but the philips driver has it. Newer blade without crossbow and a 2 mm tang, old magnifying glass, scissors without a screw and the old nail file. And the fish scaler has the old numerals on it.
