'Archer' pattern
on: July 14, 2020, 11:32:03 AM
So the ‘Archer’ I was contemplating in the Mega Mash Up post actually came out quite well ;0)

Took a Ranger as the base, took out the opener layer, added a combo tool (from Compact) instead of the small blade and a Phillips (from Hiker) on the back tools instead of corkscrew. As I use the micro driver that is often stowed in the corkscrew I just sharpened the (totally unused for me) chisel so that functions the same and voila!
High visibility plus scales finish it off

Scissors for trimming fletchings
Wood saw for removing fallen branch debris
Metal file for sharpening points and for doing my nails while the compound archers are taking their shots!! ;0) Only joking….!
Blade for blade stuff
Hook for twisting strings
Pen for scorecard
Bottle opener for when you are celebrating a win

Whistle on lanyard (as that is required for NFAS field archery in the UK) address the safety rules.

And enough left over in parts to build a huntsman and a spartan (as opposed to the camper and climber I was going to make) - nothing wasted. :salute:

Those whistles are just an eBay item ‘mini distress zip whistles’ that are intended to replace zip toggles but are equally as suitable for knife lanyards. They are surprising loud. There were some very nice brass ones on there too but I think the high vis and light weight were right for this project.

Huh... if you're into archery, you should have gotten it without Google. Yellow is the colour of the target center (10 and 9).

What did you think I meant?...

 Of course! I do field target archery which is shooting at foam animals in the woods so it wasn't the first thing that came to mind. I Googled 'yellow archer' and it is a character in the Trails Mode on Towerfall Ascension apparently which I thought must be quite well known game! ..... but then I don't do computer games either so clueless all round  :ahhh
