28.

Been on a walk with the family, kid playing in the woods and at the water, daddy checking out a new small lake for fishing.  :gimme:

Not much use today  ::)

So, just glamour shots with a carnation that went astray (whilst the others were being placed in a vase  :dunno: )

Just got back from the store and I got me my chips, :woohoo: these are like the best bbq, give a nice taste with a little umph to them for heat! Fig I’d take a pic since the FarmerX kinda looked like the pepper,, lol

Day 28

The road bike was having shifting issues. Nothing serious: it was still rideable, and I can fix most shifting problems myself anyway (I do my own maintenance, which sure comes in handy when your favourite shop is an hour away.)

It's been too long since my road bike got a thorough pampering, so I decided to take it to the shop for a good going-over. Normally, this would be the worst time of year to take it in — everyone and their dog is getting a tune-up done. This year I thought it might be different, since bicycle industry supply issues mean they aren't assembling new stock right now.

Hoo boy, was I wrong. The shop is already taking bookings for the end of April. I can't really complain, because I'm stoked so many people are cycling this year. Still, there goes my bike's shiatsu massage.

After some other errands, I drove back home, grabbed my Fx and my (sadly discontinued) Park IB-12, and poked at my front derailleur until I finally got it to behave. I needed to do a lot of prying, and the IB-12 was busy tightening hex bolts. I could have used almost anything in the world for the prying, but the Fx did fine.

There may be a pattern when it comes to my colour choice, but I couldn't tell you what it is.

It turns out my rear derailleur issues were a direct result of the front derailleur issues, so that saved me some time. Now it just needs a thorough cleaning. Maybe I'll repack all the bearings and scour the drive train next weekend.

End: Day 28

I do all my own bike maintenance too - only use a shop for tools I don’t have such as race removal tools - just not worth buying those!

Day 29

Postie dropped this package off, main blade was the tool of choice - it’s a gumstick size battery for my (now old! Where did those 20 years go!) md player - still prefer the sound it produces to using files on a phone!

Nice use, you often have a package Henry, that's a job for your FX.

DAY 29 :

The end of this challenge is coming, time flies by...
This morning my FX helped remove battery from an alarm clock, it always comes in handy for that.  :hatsoff:

It took a second but I think that's minidisc?

You clearly need to fall down the black hole of lossless audio formats and portable DAC/AMPs  :ahhh

FX Day 29:

The awl assisted with a scale swap.

While very effective, the awl was a bit aggressive and the removed scales were slightly chewed up. For my purposes, this was perfectly fine, but if you want to salvage the removed scale you'll either want to use a more careful approach or a more suitable tool.   :D

Had a few Old Peculiers in the sun myself round a friend’s this eve, SurgeUK! Coming from Cornwall myself, I’m a bit confused that that Cornish IPA doesn’t have a St Piran’s cross on the cap rather than a Union flag!?!?

Too expensive for me GF! MD was my last hurrah on HiFi back in the late ‘90s, that and some Musical Fidelity units (amps and CD) and Rogers speakers... still going strong and better than my hearing (lifelong tinnitus), though mp3/aac still sounds lacking to me!  :D
