prices seem to be pretty close wherever you look so there's probably a factory mandate to sell them at a specific price.
Take care with the Spirit's saw...It can bite...;-)Enviado de meu moto g(6) usando o Tapatalk
Forgive my ignorance with the brand, but I've never owned a Victorionox MT. I've got several SOG, LM & Gerber.I understand the Wave is the most popular LM, what is the most popular Vic.I want to get one (I understand there are many opinions)...My question is, What would you buy/keep if you could only have one?Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
OP, I think you are in for a real treat.I've collected roughly 100 pliers-based MT, and if I could only have 1 PBMT with me, I think that would be a Spirit. And if Victorinox could bring another version of Spirit MXBS and put the saw back into the chassis, that would literally be my be-all end-all PBMT.
Definitely looking forward to my first Victorinox.BUT, I don't understand all the miriad of suffixes & styles.Spirit X, XC, Swiss Tool X, CS...AAAHHHHHHH!!
OK, so you're clear on the difference between the Swiss Tool and the Swiss Tool Spirit, right? The Swiss Tool is the larger version with straight handles; the Swiss Tool Spirit (often simply referred to as the Spirit) is the smaller version, with curved handles. While combinations of suffixes are common, the suffixes follow a consistent nomenclature:"X" - means the model has scissors"BS" - means the model has a black oxide finish (models without this suffix have a polished finish instead)"C" - means the model has the serrated sheepsfoot blade, often referred to here on the forum as the butter blade (models without this suffix have a plain edge spear point blade instead); this suffix applies to the Spirit only"Plus" - means the model includes a kit with a bit wrench, bits, and corkscrew"Plus Ratchet" - means the model includes a kit with a ratcheting bit wrench, bits, and corkscrewThe above list covers everything currently on the Victorinox website, but not everything that Victorinox has ever manufactured. If you run across anything else, let us know and we'll help figure it out.
