Greetings from South Africa
« on: May 13, 2021, 05:23:12 PM »
Hi from Mpumalanga, South Africa everyone, just joined the forum after using it for a while as(a lurker) an excellent source of information.

It is the first time I’ve actually joined a forum and posted, so please bear with me.

I have a SAK or two which was given to me in the early ‘80s, but never really got interested in collecting SAK’s. I have been trying to collect other knives though, which brings me to my reason for visiting this forum in the first place.
A friend of mine told me about a shop in our neighbouring town selling knives that have been mostly discontinued(mostly Kershaw’s made in Japan,Spyderco,Buck, Leatherman etc) Apparently a friend of the shop owner died suddenly, he bought the knives, put them in the storeroom and forgot about them.
They were discovered a few years later, taken out, displayed and sold at the first owners’ selling price, and with a bit of haggling, a further 10% discount.
I noticed two large SAK’s while checking out the other knives, enquired about the price and left it at that. Over the weekend I checked out the bigger SAK’s on the internet and came upon the Swisschamp XL.
What are the chances of it being a Swisschamp XL, I thought. After spending two sleepless nights I raced there on the Monday morning, hoping against hope...

I’m not sure how to add a picture, but will do so as soon as I figure it out
