Now, Fast Bill, if you can live with short changing the challenge, one designed to honor a legend of aviation, I can, too. After all, the General was known to "push the envelope" and bend a rule or two in his day. But if we can plan to cheat, maybe we can plan to atone as well. (I'm sure the General faced consequences for his rule bending back in the day.)

How is this for a compromise?

➢ A participant may carry/use/admire/drool-over another multitool for one day during the challenge provided he or she makes a make-up post with photo on the 31st of December.

Nix,  perhaps you should remove the "admire/drool-over" part.

Personally, I don't have much problem "carrying/using" a single knife/multitool for 30 days, but there's absolutely no way I can stop "admiring/drooling-over"  other knives/tools for that period.

As much as I try (by avoiding eBay and my favorite knife retailers), it's impossible to do with all the fine knives and tools this board's membership own.

Well, Nix, that’s very kind of you to tweak your Challenge rules for me. As I’ve already signed up I’ll buy that for Christmas Day. As the General said “… And luck is everything too.”

But strictly if you want a legend of aviation I’ll offer you mine, Amelia Earhart, After all no kind action ever stops with itself.

Back on Oct. 29th, I took myself off of the challenge list because of some health issues.  Plus, I thought the challenge was going to start on Nov. 1st.
Well good news is I am MUCH improved, the marvels of modern day medicine, and if you'll all have me I'd like to get back in and start with you all.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

While there is no way I'll have an Executive by Wednesday, I'll be observing from behind the flight line. This should be a good one!

General Yeager was not warm and fuzzy toward pilots who left him for the astronaut program.  I, on the other hand, don't mind having a Mulligan day in this challenge.  You never know what might be under the tree that you just can't wait to carry for a day.  :tu:

The Executive does not have pliers, so I will be pairing it with some lovely Knipex pliers. If those have to be used, it should be obvious that the Executive was not up for the job.
We good? :pok:

Day -01 and I've snipped a few black grapes off the bunch to enjoy. I'm already enjoying carrying the Executve. But then I always do.

I'm sorry - I forgot to officially withdraw from this challenge.  As much as I like the Executive, Chuck Yeager, the Air Force, and fishing in the Sierras, I could never go a full month carrying only a small pocketknife.  So a big salute to General Yeager  :salute:  and a just slightly smaller salute to the rest of you in this challenge ;)  Have fun  :tu:
