Day 25
The Signal helped cut some more ceramic insulation for another emergency alcohol stove kit I’m giving-away.

The insulation definitely dulls the blade.

DAY 26

So a busy day at work but no legally allowable pics' (evidential stuff)

However, today was a Six Nations day (Rugby) so here's the Wingman watching France vs Scotland  :tu:

I couldn't bring myself to do the same with England vs Wales, it was a bit of a clencher in the second half  :ahhh
Tomorrow Mrs Surge vs Ireland (in Dublin)  :pok: :twak:

I just watched the highlights. I guess you did get a bit tense for awhile in the second half. Good thing they won, for GF would give you a good ribbing if Wales had prevailed  :D

Quite possibly the best use for a combo edge we've seen yet.  Mainly because I like pizza.   Food prep is one place where serrated blades can outperform plain edge blades

I just realized today that the SwissTool Spirit XC actually has a combo blade.  How could I have not remembered.  I know what I’m carrying for the rest of the challenge

Powernoodle Day 27

I tried without success to cut the metal pull chain on a light fixture.

But the Leatherman Free P4 handled it with zero effort.

SwissTool Spirit

The Spirit is my all time favorite.  I love many others, but Spirit is for me "the best".

An attempt at an action shot to show how the Skeletool KBx bottle opener works. You hook it along the side and peel the cap off toward the center

I'm not sure what you mean, I've never been anything but civil to Mr Surge

DAY 28

Great carries & uses people  :tu:

So today was the last day for the MP600 before the end of the challenge, workwise (back to the Surge on Friday)

The Gerber has done well but, compared to the Surge, it's too lightweight  :dunno: (no OHO is a deal breaker)

I'm sure it'll come back out to play before the 2nd but only in a domestic setting

They don't like it up 'em!

Back when I was in your line of work, I used to prefer the Gerber MP600 (when my options were the Leatherman Supertool and the Wave). You probably do more technical rescue than I did and put the OHO blade over the pliers.  For me, the OHO pliers was more helpful, along with trauma sheers that I would use to cut just about anything.

Opened a (surprise) package today... Carefully, so I could reseal and return if needed. Turned out that it was a package I forgot I was to expect.  Sadly it wasn't a new multitool.

The Spirit is such a nice tool and the butter blade is one of the best combo edge knives I’ve used.

Great challenge. I think I preferred the Skeletool over my other carries because of its overall usefulness, but the Schrade CH7 still has the best combo edge I've ever used.
