Day 15

December 15

Here’s exactly one reason why I changed the Rebar philips into a bit holder.  One of the screws from the swivel chair “fell off” for some reason.  Good thing one of the kids saw it on the floor.  It’s a hex screw so it was a great time to teach the kids that their chairs use 5mm hex bit.  Had them pick the bit, swap it out on the Rebar then attach the screw back in the chair.  Had them tighten the others as well.

Day 15

At this early hour (0014hrs here) there's not much to do; so, here's a glamour shot of what will be today's kit.

Good kit!     :tu:

Day 15 - not much use today, used the medium driver and the scissor to clean and free the vacuum cleaner from a lot of hair and soon the blade to open up some mail

Hard to believe that half the challenge has gone by! I did one in November and had never done two challenges in a row. Can't say that it's challenging to carry the rebar for 30 days, especially since I put the scissors in. But taking a photo every day, that's a true challenge!

Day15

I think the most quintessential thing for a Leatherman fan to do is to follow in Tim Leatherman's footsteps and repair a broken down car with their handy multitool.  This morning, I had my chance to do the ultimate deed... yes, my car died and I had my Leatherman Rebar in my pocket!!!  I didn't take pics when I was actually getting my car working again, so I had to take a staged pic of what I did.  Here's Mr. Rebar to the rescue!

This is the Rebar calling Acura Roadside Service.   :woohoo:

When the day was done, and the car was towed and repaired and back home, I celebrated my handiwork with a nice bourbon.

That's a very unusual blade shape.  It it a combo knife and screwdriver?

Basically yes. It's an Empire Radio knife. Empire went out of business in 1930. The bottom edge was meant for scraping insulation off wires. But can be used to cut other things. The tip can be used as a screwdriver or a scraper.

Day 16

December 16

The pocket clip finally arrived yesterday.  Shipping took almost a month.  The Rebar now rides in the front right pocket of my pants with the clip side on the lower part.  Here’s me with the Rebar cleaning up the garage/parking in preparation for the holidays.

Blanton's Single Barrel.   My normal go-to bourbon is Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, but I ran out so I had to dip in to the overpriced stuff.
