Wingman says Sidekick??
on:
January 19, 2022, 02:25:37 PM
Has anyone seen or heard of a Leatheman tool with the wrong model name on the tool? I was gifted a Wingman but it says “Sidekick” on the logo. As you can see in the pic, it has the tools of the Wingman but says Sidekick. Not sure if this was a refreb or what. Any thoughts? Thanks all!

Welcome to
Chuck
It could definitely be a factory error
The handles are nearly identical except for the name stamped into them
It could also be a mod that someone put together
does it have the Wingman combo edge blade or a plain edge blade of the Wingman as well?

Thanks for the Welcome! Glad to be here. Yes the blade is the combo edge. The barcode on the packaging was also labeled "Wingman" I am thanking of contacting Leatherman direct. I am not sure what the best way to go about doing that to get a response.

Either go through Facebook Messenger or go to their website and at the bottom of the page you can go to "Contact us" that will give you a form to fill out
They likely won't be much help with the question, other than saying, you can send it in for Warranty and they will replace it

I'd keep it as a curio

If everything works correctly on it, like locks and detention on non locking tools - just keep it. I think it’s cool that way
