Cords, colored TnT and corkscrew drivers
on: February 25, 2022, 02:03:20 PM
Do you use those things on actual user SAKs, or not?
I used leather or paracord until now, with nice beads, but I just decided to give them a try. For my EDC SAK, grey remains the pen, black the toothpick and black the tweezers, not that my fingers don't find them subconsciously and blindly every time.
Regarding the drivers, do they offer anything new on a Cybertool?

I use the victorinox lanyards on all my knives that I carry for that day. Whether I carry it in my watch pocket with just the lanyard,  or hanging from a suspension clip with lanyard attached to it and then the knife. I like that it gives the knive a pop of color. But  Ultimately it allows me easy fast access to my knifes. And same goes for scale tools. I like to make the knife stand out and look different from all the other SAKs with different color option. That the reason why I like colored scales. Everyone know the iconic red with Grey tweezers and off white toothpicks. Also some nail polish on the head of pen will allow you to match it to the tweezers and toothpicks. It's long lasting and easy can be removed with remover.

That's a great idea.
Only problem is that my wife is traditional, she only wears red nail polish .
But I can ask around!

Great pictures Rocco and kkokkolis!
Also really dig how you all put the lanyard on the Sbiner suspension clip- that’s brilliant   :salute:

Recently got a lanyard with some plus scales I picked up on the bay so I’ll report back after I’ve tried some different configurations.

Why don’t you just buy some yourself? You can get cheap stuff if you don’t mind making multiple applications.

Plus you could have matching nails!  8) :D

I might. Although, if I find the time, I might make some plastic modeling again, I have a Dassault Mirage and a Kiev waiting. My old paints dried up but I might buy some new. Acrylic would do, wouldn't it?

You could try a pen with pigment ink. I used a silver one on a nylon scale once. It took a lot of work with isopropyl alcohol to remove.

By doing that there is no way for the lanyard to fall off it whether attached to pocket or not.

it never dawned on me to stick a lanyard on the end of the suspension clip like that....

I may be liberating this idea shortly

I did it because sometimes the lanyard gets in the way, when using the drivers for example. This way I can remove it and reattach it quickly.
For the same reason, I put a swivel between the SAK and the S-biner. Because, when I had a longer cord, it was twisting when driving a screw.

I’m not really a fan of lanyards, so almost none of my knives have them.

I just stick with the stock Vic T&T and corkscrew drivers.

When using the SAK, I prefer it naked. But I need something to catch when removing it from the Skinth, or my pants' pocket.
