Spartan Midsummer Challenge July 2022

Fast Bill brought it to our attention in the Spartan Saturday thread that there's not been a challenge to honor the original Officer's Knife, the humble but mighty Spartan.  Let's correct this oversight!  Starting 1 July 2022 and continuing through 30 July, post a pic and some adventures of you and your Spartan.  The more creative pics and uses the better!

Merit Badges Start a thread with a photo of a repair you made with duct tape Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of  a Opinel  knife  for 30 days Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Vic Spirit MT for sixty (60) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a Combo Edged knife or Multitool and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a MiniChamp SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Delemont SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Cybertool (any variant), Swisschamp, Champion or Toolchest for sixty (60) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo daily of any SAK 74mm or smaller ( you can switch it up daily ) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. The Spartan is pretty much THE iconic Swiss Army knife.

It's almost embarassing that there hasn't been a Challenge involving them before now (well not one I could find) so this is well overdue. If Challenges are partly about using a limited toolset creatively then this will force us to get our little grey cells working. And joining in? I bet few of us here don't have a Spartan so why not give it some well deserved time in the sunshine. Heck I'd say even Weekenders should be welcome !! :rofl:

This time I'll join months prior, rather than the very first day of the challenge  :D
Spartan was my first quality knife, bought it first year living away from home for university study. Has been on my side on a lot of adventures - night shifts on a reception desk in an empty hotel in the woods, a summer working in a sea resort, fishing and trips.... Since I gathered quite a lot of knives and MT's during the years it almost never sees pocket time which is not right so I will enjoy carrying it for the challenge  :) And it will be a breeze since I am pocket carrying a Swisstool right now  :D

Glad to have you!  Your Spartan sounds like my Huntsman.  I have so many memories with that knife.  You're right about carrying the Spartan after the Swisstool Challenge :rofl:

I'm in for July. In over 30 years (awlmost three-quarters of my lifetime) carrying SAKs, I've only very recently had a carrier Spartan. Time to put it to use!

Looking good everyone. The Spartan isn't even my ideal toolset but I have a grown to appreciate them. The Huntsman is no doubt about it a very versatile tool but for a very pocketable everyday carry the Spartan is a sound bet. Here's few of mine

I'm getting kinda excited about the upcoming Spartan Challenge.  Hopefully I'll be able to get more action photos than I have in previous challenges, but some glamour shots are good too.

As with all other challenges that I've completed, here, I've already got it bookmarked on my phone and added it to my home screen.
