Someone posted pics of theirs over at the Leatherman User FB group.  The scales look shockingly different than the sales pics.

Do tell !

I can’t really explain it. They sort of look like black micarta scales I suppose.  The texture seems to be more pronounced and the blue inserts don’t seem to be as thick. Still not sure if they are stay glow or not.   The DLC coating  has different look than the black oxide.

A couple of thoughts.

The poster in the above photos said that the stuff on the scales was dust that easily wiped off and not discoloring.

The G10 is okay looking and the blue inserts are about the thickness of the Kick/Fuse. Not as great as I had hoped. As by photos.

The plier heads and DLC coating look phenomenal.

I get the feeling that Mr Crunch will be about as innovative as the Garage gets, with most of these tools simply being glorified mods. We shall see though.

Just my opinion

Weren't they already offering fancied things on their main site?  I don't believe they were limited tho

I would be excited to see stuff that Tim drew out back in the day that never made it out HIS garage.  If thats such a thing.  Maybe they could tap his brain and see what things he wanted to make but maybe costs were to high at the time.

He said that it looks adjustable but nothing says that it is. He hasn’t tried it.  The sales photos showed what looked to be a hex fastener, but that looks like torx or maybe some sort of triple square.

The guy over at FB who does contract work at Leatherman and got to see the Skeletool and both Garage tools before they were released said that he hasn't seen Garage 003 yet, but it will be pretty much be completed in August.  He also said that these are a team of engineers doing these and that "a whole lot of innovation is going into these."  So maybe my assumption of them slowly turning into glorified mods was off base.

Is that a forward-facing statement? The only innovative thing we've seen so far is a modernisation of the Mr Crunch's changing pliers.

Good for you, Sir.

Mine arrives in 2 days.  I may keep it unopened just to torture myself, and theoretically increase its value.

Not an expert. But I would have thought that the pivot hole would be at the center and bigger.

I guess I should stop speculating and wait. I don’t have those kinds of funds anyway. Thank goodness for MTO that give me a chance to see what owners think about it.
