What do you think about acid etched tools?

I thought the darker tools looked cool so I went ahead and tried my hand making a dark climber. Turns out I kind of hate the feeling of them, I will probably try to sand/polish them to improve the feel. Any of you guys like etched tools?  [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I like acid etched tools, though I don't like the texture if left in the etchant too long:

That is a very cool looking tool Adam5. I think you have a point about the time in the acid, I will try less on yhe next go. I took a little off on the edges using 2000 grit paper and it already has improved quite a bit.

I actually really like it, I find it much more finger print resistant than polished, satin, or dlc finishes

It has really grown on me since I first did it. The gross feeling wears into a smooth satin type feel after a short time. I also realized I really like the way it looks with the traditional red scales. I think the next step is experimenting with stone or metal washing.

If you like brass, tumble it with brass pieces and bits of brass will be on the tools.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

I do not like etched. One of the reasons I love Vics is due to the high chrome polish. But it doesn't matter, it's great we can all make them how we like :)
