Anyone up for a 4th quarter 30 day challenge using 100mm and 108mm? gardeners, safaris, floral, mauser etc?

I was thinking October or November.

Interesting 🧐

I thought the Day Tripper(think that is the name) would be a 84 candidate, but nope, the scales are much longer than the blade.

Yea, pretty sure I will be available as I like the blade on mine.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I’d most likely be in

I took the gardening knife camping to use in the kitchen about 18 months ago but found it too small. Nearly used a GAK trooper in the 90 day Soldier challenge but didn’t so that’d be an interesting challenge

Cool guys  I think it will be interesting to spend time with these less popular sizes. Is October good for you both?

Hmmm Spirit challenge Oct & Nov posted today sounds very tempting too….I don’t suppose this could be run in September could it as there’s nothing currently planned then?  :dunno:

Hmm interesting. I’d be up for this one. I’m easy on the month as nothing booked in…never really used my GAK as edc so be good to see how it stacks up…

Yeah not too many people interested in carrying these two sizes, and the country of origin sounds cool.  I have had a really busy last month and this, but should be back more starting august. We can push this back a few more months to get by the Aug Alox and Sept COO.

Sounds good. Tbh I think there’s now challenges all the way until December, there’s the 60 day Spirit October and November. Farmer X has penciled in Opinel for January too

Please let me know too.  I have a 108 GAK that's a lot of fun to carry.  I'd love to jump in on this!

Good point, and that reminds me I need to use that challenge as an excuse to get an Opinel.  I am looking at February for this one to avoid all the challenges on the horizon. I love my 100mms.

Just checking in here, I still think Feb for this one. Heres a shot of a quick mod I did on my Budding and Pruner 3. Needed a lanyard for ease of carrying.

I might jump in once the smoke clears a little from the Classic Challenge.  I carry a GAK every day to start with.  Except for challenges.  I will keep it on the back burner for now.  Best wishes.  G

Things have been rough around here the past few months, which is why I've not done too many challenges.

Despite having been retired for the newer 111mm version, I've gotten my old 108mm GAK out a whole heck of a lot more (and the Florist sees a lot of use as my around-the-house knife), so I'm definitely in for this one.

Trapper size, great grip, and a ton of tool density. And, it's often been my viewpoint that Vic should've stuck to the pull-cut saw. Both my GAK and '57 Ranger saws will cut circles around the straight tooth modern versions, despite both being used and abused knives.

:salute: Glad to have you Cody. I have been looking at GAKs and various 108’s on ebay but have yet to pick one up. Maybe soon though, as the pull saw sounds enticing, and the whole combo tool on the end.

That would be great G, esp if you are carrying the GAK anyway. I would love to see how you use it.
