111mm scales like the 93mm Alox??

Just wondering why no one seems to be building 111mm saks in the alox 93mm style?

Aluminum (or titanium or other metal…) scales with brass rod peened just like on the 93mm models.

Threaded pivots and screws would be even better, but not sure if anyone makes such pivots for the various layer depths of the 111mm model line.

I’d like a 111mm Soldier or Pioneer.  Just the blade and openers. Would love the 93mm inline awl, but just doesn’t seem to work out well on the 111mm line.

Hmm, that would be interesting, but probably very heavy! A FarmerX is 109g, and a soldier is already 128g with just the plastic rubbery scales, so turning those monsters into just aluminum really going to add weight, but neat idea,, would be nice with a liner lock!

No. I am talking scales like on the 93mm alox models. Basically solid with holes for the brass rods. No liners on outside.

Swiss Bianco simply replace the factory scales.

I remember seeing a Sakmodder on instagram that seemed to specialize in 111 but I just looked and didn’t find them, I will keep looking. These exist, so there should be some knives floating around. https://www.aliexpress.com/i/3256803419035769.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt

Aliexpress is fine and the scales work but require modding

DECustomforge (a member here) makes 111mm scales and required pivots

I was after 5 layer when I had my Farmer X converted to metal saw/file from wood saw. But couldn’t get them so had Tim Simco do the work and put back together with brass rods.

You can connect a short pivot to a longer pivot with a long screw to increase length and improve strength.

But the aliexpress 111mm scales are not great for screws. You can make them work but better for peened brass rod (as in my picture).
