Christmas Camping Grub
on: December 24, 2023, 04:50:44 PM
On our annual beach camping trip for Christmas. This is the first time in 20 years we have not had a kid with us,,, but the daughter is in college now and had other plans this year.  So, we are skipping the dutch oven chicken that she loves so much.

For starters this morning we are carrying on with the fire roasted doughnuts and some sausage links. Also, I have added a new Rapala coffee mug to the camper.

Camping trip sounds awesome, GA.
One of those things I wish I could do again.
Hope the weather is good (it's mid 60's here)
Be safe and have a wonderful Christmas.

When we camp at the beach, we pretty much only eat fresh seafood. For dinner tonight I broke out the old BernzOmatic propane stove and fried up some fresh shrimp and oysters. We had Po'Boy sammiches,,, with roasted taters. Dang tasty if I say so myself.

Roasted donuts?!?!?!  I need to try that soon!

I love me some po'boys.  My usual goto is fried oysters po'boy.  Nothing like fresh seafood though.

Enjoy it!

Thanks! We're just down the road from ya a bit,,, in Murrells Inlet. The weather has been quite nice for late December. Supposed to rain a little this afternoon though. I got out and metal detected the beach a little yesterday, with no great results. Saw some dolphins maybe a hundred feet out. It's been a good weekend so far!

Don't do it!!! They are seriously addictive!!  Warm, soft and smoky!!! :woohoo:

You can't see them in the picture, but there is a layer of oysters under the shrimp. I couldn't eat but half of that monster sandwich. Will have the rest for lunch today.

Probably my last food entry for this thread as we head home tomorrow.

Tonight we had grouper tacos.

Also, my wife got a kick out of the "Minibago" that was cruising around the campground this afternoon.
