30 Day Modified SAK Challenge - February 2024

I'm going to start the 30 day Modified SAK Challenge on February 1st.  Got a SAK Mod and want to earn the badge, join me on Feb. 1st!
Merit Badges Must post a step by step pictorial of a knife or MT Mod, done by you that includes changing the main chassis of the tool in a significant way. By machining, welding or cutting original design to accept new tool loads. Requests will be reviewed. Must post a step by step pictorial of a knife or multitool modification (scale swap not included) Start a new thread and post a photo of the discontinued sak/mt for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the modified sak (scale swap not included) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread with a photo of your custom ALOX with scissors Start a new thread with a photo of a modded knife or multitool with your EDC Must start a thread with a photo of your camo SAK Post your pocket dump photos then challenge two more members who must post their pocket dump photos within 24hrs for you to get the badge. I would be in except I am doing the 100/108 during Feb., I carry one mod or another 99% of the time.

Thanks for joining me, some nice ones you got there!  The next challenge I want to attempt, is the Discontinued SAK/MT Challenge.  I have a Outdoorsman that I restored.  I broke the fine screwdriver off when I was a kid and the scales were chipped and cracked with huge chuncks missing.

Day 3

I tested the custom wood saw when I made it, but wanted to test it with it assembled in the knife.  Works pretty good, considering it's so tiny.

Missed posting yesterday due to a migraine that started Friday evening so I wasn’t on, but still got a picture cutting some dog treats when it let up.

lazar can confirm because it is his challenge, but from what I’ve experienced from previous ones, is as long as the toolset of the knife has been changed it qualifies.  The one I have been primarily using is at the minimal end with only the cork screw being replaced by a phillips driver.  Or it could be more in depth where tools have been physically modified or replaced such as lazar’s Spydernox.

I think it has to be more than just a scale swap.  I guess you could start your Day 1 today and just carry on after we finish our 30th day.  I won't abandon the thread, I'll hang out with ya in here.

A Teal 84mm Voyageur

The Voyageur is one of those models that was cut when Victorinox stopped making 84mm with scissors.  Beaver Bladeworks modified 91mm scissors to fit the 84mm frame. For me this is a perfect bare minimum toolset.

It opened boxes today for a new pack and water bottle.

Take part in the christmas pool or a rak type giveaway. Those wanting to say thank you for a rak may also nominate for the santa. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a Combo Edged knife or Multitool and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. In this challenge,  carry one(1) Pliers-based or Non-pliers multitool that we always have prejudice against, hate or even fear and post a picture everyday for 30 days Start a new thread and post a photo daily of any SAK 74mm or smaller ( you can switch it up daily ) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a GEC knife and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. Consume the MRE after the storage period and post pictures and descriptions of the contents. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of  a Bladeless Multitool for 30 days

I didn't even notice that in your post above.  Looks like they moved where pivot is on those scissors.  Very cool!
