Garage Batch 007

Oh lord. It’s basically the Garage 006 but with a combo serrated blade and light blue handle.

Its actually believable, considering that more than a few things at Leatherman have seemed unreal at first but turned out to be true.  :tu:

It was 100% believable.  Not that far from the mean.  Smith & Wesson had an April Fool that it was chambering a J-frame in 500 S&W.  For a revolver person, that's pretty unbelievable.

Turns out the April Fool post was wilder than reality -  a Magnacut skinner with a white handle a lot like the 006, available next Tuesday.

Not for me, very little use for a fixed blade in the UK, but I’m glad the Garage is still open for business.

The pics are over at Reddit. 3D printing Benchmade hunting knives and throwing white scales on them isn’t really what I pictured  the Garage being.

:iagree: The Garage was suppose to be about innovation but they are just trying to push different fixed blades

No can tell me that the Harvest wasn’t copied directly off of Benchmade’s Saddle Mountain and this one off of the Hidden Canyon.  Right down to Benchmade’s unique backspacers.

Remember the halcyon days of the 001 Mr. Crunch, and 002 Darkside?  We thought this was the harbinger of great things to come.  Innovation and excellence.  Good times.  Sadly, it didn't last long.  Maybe Timmy is trying to teach us a life lesson.

I thought the Garage was a fad that died of last year... it has been awhile since the last one. No interest in a fixed blade,  but maybe it is for someone.

Sadly, Tim Leatherman has little to do with product development.

I was hoping for a nicer UK legal carry than the Bond. We don't have many carry laws in PA, but it'd be cool to see a company try to make a good UK/restricted carry tool instead of just paring down one of their existing ones.

I would have thought that LM would have had enough pride to do a collaboration with someone that people in the knife world had heard of.  I mean, the Malloy Brothers?  Maybe LM  did the collaboration out of these dude’s garage?

Yeah, I know he has pulled back from that because his pile of money was getting too big.  I just use his name as a generic moniker for Leatherman.

Dear Leatherman,

I can go get a fixed blade knife anywhere. And if you ever go back to making things we might actually want to buy, I'm not going to get excited about something that your website will refuse to allow me to buy anyway. You have failed with the entire garage concept, and everyone associated with it should be fired and liquidated in the next James Bond movie.

I just want some more Crunch's - either the originals or a newly improved one. But if you release a limited number of them through the silly garage I'm going to encase myself in Jello and then light the whole package on fire in your parking lot.

You're welcome for the constructive feedback.

If I need a fixed blade, there are tons of production companies and custom makers with great fit and finish at a reasonable price.
What I want to see from Leatherman is to make at least ONE no-compromise multi-tool with all the internal tools on board: no separate saws/files/bits...
learn how to do it right from Victorinox: Swiss Tool/Spirit.
Leatherman and fixed blade ...

WHAT IS THE GARAGE?

Over 35 years ago, Tim Leatherman designed and fabricated the first multi-tool in a garage. Today, The Leatherman Garage takes that same spirit of grit, perseverance, and engineering to test out new ideas, tinker with the old ones (like the original PST design), and discover what works and what doesn’t. Everything that comes out of The Garage will be released in limited edition runs (less than 1000), and once they’re all sold out, they’re gone forever. Some will succeed. Some will fail. But all of them will be completely original. Which is the Leatherman way.

Glad to see that they have not forgotten the original purpose of the Garage.

The good news with these releases is that I have no FOMO to worry about. It has helped eliminate anxiety.

I’ll be trying to get this today only for the fact that I have all of them. Once I miss out on one I’m out.  Wish that If I knew then what I know now, I would have bailed after 002.

I saw the little video with the Malloy brothers.  It showed some of them cutting up some trout, meat, etc with a blade that looked remarkably like the Kizer Cabox that I stuck in my back pocket yesterday.  Short, maybe 3 inch blade.  Very deep blade.  Is that what the Leatherman 007 is going to be?  Best wishes.  G

I just wish they would do a Mr Crunchy run again.
