Looking good Antti!

Yessir Gary, it is.  Mrs. R collects them.  She likes light houses, and miniatures are a lot cheaper than the real ones!

My neighbor had beagles.  I miss hearing them!

My wife thinks I should open it, part of me says I shouldn't, but then the other part of me says, "You should enjoy it."

I had a weird thing happen to me yesterday.  I dropped a towel in a basin and had to hang it out on a line to dry.  Nice day for it.  Later I used that towel to dry my hands.  That was when I felt my middle finger get cut.
Everybody here knows what a cut feels like.  I yanked my hand out of the towel and saw a marmorated brown stink bug fall to the floor.  I looked at my finger to see how badly it was cut.  No blood.  Hurt like anything.  I squeezed my finger.  Still no blood.  I didn't see a cut at all, but I sure felt it.  I swept out the noxious stink bug.  I have been evicting these things all week.  You have to keep your mouth closed when you go outside.
There was no cut.  It was that stink bug.  It must have latched on to my finger.  They have a serrated thin edge to their tough outer shell, but it shouldn't have felt like a knife cut, right?  They pack an on-board chemical weapons system.  No stingers.  No jaws.  They have a folding beak instead and can attack with that.  I either got poked (with no blood showing) or suffered a chemical attack.  It stopped hurting in a couple of minutes.  I took an antihistamine and kept watch to see if my finger was turning color or something.  Nothing.
These ugly bugs are an invasive species from somewhere or other.  I used a fly swatter on a regiment of these things a few years ago.  Spat.  Spat.  I counted to 50 casualties and stopped.  The scent on my porch was memorable.  Later I learned that it is almost impossible to kill these things with a fly swatter.  You wack and they fall down motionless.  Later they roll over and leave.
The two see-throughs are both sexes of the Victorinox 2 layer species.  Tinker (F) and Spartan (M).  Best wishes.  G

They're everywhere Gary.  I remember seeing them in times past, but not in these numbers.

Love those scales!

Juan, is that a Woodsman?  If so, I had one just like it.  I always loved those scales.

I had to look on SAKwiki to see what a Victorinox Woodsman looked like.  I never heard of one before.  I wanted to buy a Walker 84mm when SMKW had them cheap but can't order anything.  I like saws on an outdoor knife.
Some nice photos for today guys.  Best wishes.  G

It's one I could never figure out why they discontinued in the US.  The one I had was a Mexican market only version.  It's like the Master Craftsman, which I believe is currently a Japanese market only offering.

Found this!  It's my old Woodsman. Actually the one I have now is older. It's a gray mag frame model.

Love that lanyard Gordon!!
Thank you.

I can not take credit for it.

It was added by an auction site seller, to dress up this CLIMBER.   YET he listed for a reasonable price.

It is part of my display case and the lanyard does enhance the beauty of the scales.

The photo would look good on the SAKwiki.  I don't think they have a photo of that variant.  Best wishes.  G

How about an SC photo?  I started to take a good stink bug photo but decided to get the unwanted visitor out instead. Stay tuned. Best wishes. G

Yes Barry, it is. It's supposed to be a Mexico-market one (clear/newer mag frame, small flat drive as back tool, black lanyard) but, was somewhat abused (saw has slightly rounded teeth; scales were broken; dirty) but, was affordable. Love how yours look; kudos on such a nice example!

Gordon, I second Barry's thought on how nice-looking that lanyard is!

Looking again att the picture, I now must make an effort to polish up the scales as they are a tad cloudy! 😌

That one is the same model as Juan's, a Mexico market model.  To the best of my knowledge they're the only new Vic Woodsmans left.
The photo would look good on the SAKwiki.  I don't think they have a photo of that variant.  Best wishes.  G

Butterflies and stink bugs today.  I mentioned the Marmorated stink bugs in another post.  I found a dead one.  The live ones don't like to have their pictures taken.  If you get close to one, their defense is to turn loose of whatever they are on and drop.  Once on the ground they are mostly invisible.  Except for the smell.  Best wishes.  G

.I now know why your Sapphire looks so brilliantly blue.

Mrs. Rowland is smiling in the background with her bright smile, chuckling of you taking pictures of your knife!

I do not have that presence any longer, so I rely on the next brilliant alternative, the sun 🌞
