Bosch GOP 18v-34 cordless vs Bosch GOP 40-30
on: August 05, 2024, 11:53:40 PM
Hi there

I would like to have a comparison opinion between the Bosch GOP 18v-34 cordless vs Bosch GOP 40-30 corded vibration tools. They both are great, probably I would go for the cordless but to buy everything it's very expensive. I have seen that the 18V-34 is advertised to pass half the vibration to your hand respect to the old GOP 18V-30 which was still cordless but I really don't know the comparison with the corded GOP 40-30 ..anyone can help?

For what it is worth I've had a GOP 12v-28, used a PMF 250, and currently use a corded GOP 55-36. I chose the corded one last time as is significantly more powerful and keeps on going. If I needed to be more mobile the battery one would make more sense.

I can't say I have really noticed vibration as a problematic issue with any of them. Depending on the work I would use a hearing aid for comfort though.

I think both models you mentioned use Starlock mount as opposed to the more traditional one. I prefer that one but prices for the attachments do seem a bit higher than the more traditional mount.

Yes the current Bosch lineup it's using Starlock on all product.

Bosch states that the new GOP 18V-34 transmit 50% less vibration to your hand than the previous 18V-28 which is great and I have seen some review on the internet confirming that there are less vibration on your hand. That's because I think they moved the main motor on the head on the device, farther from your hand.  Anyway I really don't know how the GOP 18V-34 is in comparison with the classic corded GOP 40-30, they should have more or less the same power, but I don't know about vibration. I'm an hobbyist not really used to have this in hand for hours so I would appreciate that the tool is more confortable to use.

The one you mention, the GOP 55-36 is the most powerfull one it cannot be compared with both the GOP 18V-34 and the GOP 40-30

If I remember right there is Starlock, Starlock Plus (?) and Starlock Max - or something like that. I think the Max holders will take normal and plus too, while plus will also take normal Starlock.

Yes, the 55-36 is the most powerful one which is why I got it. Compared to the other models I've tried it is brutally effective. It is what I got so I can't comment much on other models, but I'd guess the models you think about is somewhere in the middle of those I've used.

For me the vibration levels would not be a critical deciding factor at all. If possible try the different models before deciding?
