I usually tune the edge on every SAK I get. They're mostly okay from the factory, but almost all the ones I've gotten have had a nasty burr that needs to come off. Sometimes the edge grind might be a little uneven or wavy. In the case of the Emergency tools, the tips had gotten a bit blunted, likely during final polishing. So I'll just reset them at 17 degrees each side and leave them with a coarser edge finish. That seems to give me an edge that holds up well for most of my usage.
That has been my experience as well as far as edges go. I find the slightly coarser edge give me a bit more sliceyness on stuff like jute twine and plastic packing, as well as holding up a bit better. I don't do shaving or surgery with my pocket knives, so a super polished edge is no good to me. I don't know what grit the bottom ring of an IKEA soup bowl is, but it gives a very good slicing edge on my SAK's.
I did see them in the links you left. When I clicked on the find a dealer, I got this sort of response for both links. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] I am not interested in these things, but there are probably quite a few members who would buy one if they could. Best wishes. G
Edit: I looked for the 58mm Emergency knife on the Polish site, but couldn't find it.
