Gadgets 2 Go Clip On 12 in 1 Carabineer tool
on: June 20, 2025, 04:32:53 PM
Last week I was at Canadian Tire getting some keys cut and I saw this Carabineer tool hanging on the rack.  I figured I'd grab it and give it a shot.

I have it hanging on the strap of my work bag, but I haven't yet managed to use it for anything so I really can't comment on how useful it is.

It reminds me a lot of the Alltul Raptor that I really liked until I lost it.

Alltul Raptor Carabineer

Maybe that's what convinced me to buy it.  Maybe it's because it was cheap.  I don't know, I'm not an economist.

Maybe I just wanted a new toy to break up the humdrum nature of being a responsible adult.   That's probably it.  Don't judge me.

It's got a decent number of functions (12, just like in that name) for such a small tool, although, as I said, I can't really comment on how useful any of them are just yet.

I'll get a full review up shortly after I find something to use it for. Meanwhile, here are some pictures, which are allegedly far more important than actually using it or knowing anything at all, at least according to social media.

Now I feel bad for not having written a proper review, so I thought it might be fun to ask the AI to do it for me.

It'll be fun to compare it to the REAL review once I've actually used it, but in the meantime, this is at least on par with most website reviews you'll see!   :P

Review: Gadgets 2 Go 12-in-1 Carabiner Multitool - A Compact Companion for Everyday Tasks

The Gadgets 2 Go 12-in-1 Carabiner Multitool aims to be your go-to solution for quick fixes and everyday utility, all packed into a convenient, clip-on design. For those who appreciate preparedness without carrying a bulky toolbox, this compact gadget offers a compelling blend of functionality and portability.

Design and Portability (4/5 Stars):

True to its name, the defining feature of this multitool is its carabiner form factor. Made from stainless steel, it feels durable and robust enough for daily wear and tear. The compact size (typically around 3.5 inches long) and lightweight design (around 0.8 to 3.87 ounces, depending on the specific model/manufacturer) make it incredibly easy to attach to your keys, belt loop, or backpack. This "everyday carry" (EDC) aspect is a major draw, ensuring you always have a basic set of tools at hand. The folding design helps keep it snag-free when clipped.

Functionality (3.5/5 Stars):

The "12-in-1" claim is where the rubber meets the road. While the specific tools can vary slightly between manufacturers selling similar 12-in-1 carabiner multitools, common inclusions are:

 * Screwdrivers: Often includes multiple sizes of flathead and Phillips screwdrivers. These are generally adequate for light-duty tasks, like tightening glasses or toy battery compartments.

* Wrenches: Hex wrenches are frequently incorporated, suitable for basic adjustments on bikes or other small mechanisms.

* Bottle Opener: A perennial favorite and a consistently useful feature.

* Box Cutter/Package Opener: Handy for opening deliveries or mail.

* Ruler: A small, integrated ruler can be surprisingly useful for quick measurements.

 * Phone Holder/Stand: Some models include a clever cutout that allows it to function as a rudimentary phone stand, which is a nice bonus.

* Carabiner Buckle: The core of the design, allowing for easy attachment.

* Phone Card Needle/SIM Ejector: A small but crucial tool for smartphone users.

It's important to set realistic expectations. These are not heavy-duty tools designed for intense DIY projects. They excel at minor adjustments, quick fixes, and convenience. The quality of the individual tools, particularly the screwdrivers, might not match dedicated full-sized versions, and some users might find certain tools a bit fiddly to access or use.

Durability (4/5 Stars):

Being primarily made of stainless steel, the Gadgets 2 Go Carabiner Multitool generally boasts good durability. It's resistant to rust and should withstand regular use without deforming or bending. However, like any small tool, excessive force or improper use could lead to damage.

Value for Money (4/5 Stars):

Prices for 12-in-1 carabiner multitools can vary, but they typically fall into an affordable range (often under $20 CAD). Given the convenience and range of functions, it offers good value for someone looking for a versatile, compact EDC tool. It's a great option for campers, hikers, cyclists, or anyone who simply appreciates having a few essential tools within reach.

Overall Impression:

The Gadgets 2 Go 12-in-1 Carabiner Multitool is a practical and convenient little device that delivers on its promise of being a versatile everyday carry item. While it won't replace a full toolkit, its array of useful functions packed into a highly portable carabiner design makes it an excellent choice for minor tasks, unexpected needs, and general preparedness. It's a solid recommendation for those who prioritize portability and convenience in their utility tools.

(Crap like this is why we insist on doing actual, hands on reviews.)

Even after all my years of being a Rabbi as well as a Mohel, I have never seen a Mogen clamp quite like that.
