Wave Parts Help
on: October 31, 2025, 03:59:45 AM
Hello everyone. I have an old Wave. I messed up and lost some of the tiny metal washers for the outside blades. They are loose and wobbly now. Where do I get those little metal washers to fix my mistake?

The only thing I can think of is to find a parts donor on eBay. I would say send it off to Leatherman as a warranty claim, but they'd probably just give you a brand-new tool...if they don't outright reject the warranty claim.

Hello!

What about Leatherman's 25-year warranty? As far as I know, it's still valid in the US. :) Just tell them the tool is a keepsake and you only need the washers; I think you'll get them for free.
Seriously, finding these washers isn't hard, even in Russia. Take some from a disassembled tool from ebay, order from AliExpress, or make new ones yourself. :)

P.S. Once you get the new ones, don't forget to polish them with diamond paste. I recently disassembled a skeletool, and the washers were terrible!

Like Farmer said, you can look for a parts donor. The second option is to see if some one is selling parts on eBay. If you send it in to Leatherman, they might reject the warranty claim since you have taken the tool apart.

A washer isn't exactly a complex part.  I think I would check out the hardware stores once you figure out what thickness you need.  It would be child's play to make them thinner if you needed.  Or start out from stock of the correct thickness and make them yourself.  I would probably try aluminum or maybe brass myself.  Do as you please.
Haven't seen your posts in a while.  Hope all is well.  Do you like the multis you got before?    Best wishes.  Gary

I have not been on in a while. I am currently carrying the Rebar. I did find a complete set of washers on ebay. Being visually impaired, it was just easier to spend $7 and buy a complete set. That way I do not have to get family to drive me, while figuring out the sizes needed at Ace Hardware. It was my fault. Now I know what to expect. Use a black surface, etc. I really like the Arc. Yes it is overpriced but it is the smoothest multitool I own.

Glad you found what you needed. Good luck with getting it set up the way you want. Let us know how it went.
