eBay fun and packages received.
on: March 25, 2010, 12:58:42 AM
I just got an email from a seller who made a mistake. She sent my Eddie Bauer Wenger Pocketgrip to Serbia, and apparently mailed me the guys camera that he won off of her.

I haven't received my package yet, but he has. He wasn't all that pleased from what she told me. I still want that Pocketgrip. Guess I will have to mail her the camera, and hopefully the other guy mails her my MT. Somehow I am thinking this will end up with her giving me a refund as the guy decides to keep it as he is demanding his money right away and not offering to ship the knife back. Only time will tell.

On another front, I got an automatic update email from Knifedepot telling me they just shipped my Gerber Octande and Diesel. Well, I think everyone knows when I got the Octane, and the Diesel just graced my door today.

I hope their automated information system is glitched and they don't actually re-send me the items. I would be honour bound to mail them back...and that wouldn't make me a happy camper. So you guessed it, only time will tell.  :)

On a cheerful note, I did get a few more items in the door. :D

A Camo Gerber Diesel. I can now say that I have a Diesel. Guess this makes it official.

The sheath is rather nice.

Have to crack the shell to get at the goodies inside.

This is my first Gerber Camo. It is rather tastefully done. I can tell it is not vinyl tape as I was lead to believe in another thread, or at least this one doesn’t seem to be.

The tools are nice. I must say, I like the Diesel.

Another Gerber also came in. The sheath is rather different from the first however.

Inside, we find a Gerber Flik Fisherman.

This is a bit of an odd item. I have noticed that in order to have the pliers deploy correctly, I have to zip the pliers up, open the handles all the way until I cannot open them any further. This seats the pliers correctly. If I just open the handles a bit, then the head will seat a tad crooked. Anyone who owns a Flik knows that the handle and plier mechanisms are a bit complex in how they operate.

As you can see, the pliers stick out a ways when stored. This is a feature on all Gerber Fisherman models.

I also received a Leatherman. This one is the BO Charge Ti. I didn’t know this one existed until I saw a few photos of them recently on the forum. I am happy I was able to nab one.

The BO Charge Ti is rather nice in a Darth Vader way.

To add a bit of variety, I also received two SAKs. Both are Wenger models.

The first is the 100 year Wenger Soldier. It has 91 I think on the blade.

And last but not least, a mystery model. A mystery in that I am uncertain if this is the stainless steel or sterling silver Esquire. (I had both ordered).

That is about it for now. I will update the Gerber and Leatherman Pictorial threads at a later date. I am waiting for more Gerber MTs to come in.

Interesting that your 100 year SI has a 91 stamp, mine is 90.  I'd guess your Esquire is steel unless it has sterling written on the back.  I suppose it could be a very well buffed titanium one :P
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

The other 100 year SI that he has coming (hopefully tomorrow) has a 90 tang stamp.

I re-checked. 91 is the date listed on the blade.

As for the Esquire, it does look like someone buffed the heck out of it. I can just see trace marking of some letter outlines on the front scale. So faint I can't read them.

Huh, so which one, 1990 or 1991 is the real 100th Anniversary?  Maybe your 91, Chako, is an error, which would make it that much more interesting. ^_^

Oh, and just a head's up, but I have your box almost ready to go. :)
